- Attention! Regardless of whether or not I make this a species, I will be making a few of them to adopt out in order to keep my charrie socialized, given their species background and information! Therefore, if you'd be interested in one, and still keeping them in contact with mine (can't just snatch and run. cx ), please let me know.
- I'll finish this when I can, I accidentally pressed color me in versus Edit me, and by the time I realized, it was too much work to give up. So uh, I'm just going to copy and paste the species info here again.
Thing I still need to add;
-Back feathers
-An actual layer for the luminesence on the tail
-Alpha lock color for tooth
-Alpha lock color for bone bands
-Finish back leg
-Possibly add accent feathers in other locations (Neck, shoulders, base of tail)
-Finish BG
Any Comments, questions or suggestions (This especially, I feel like they just aren't unique enough.) are greatly appreciated. Again, if I'm turning this only into a charrie, I will be making a few more for the purpose of socializing mine. Will need others to give them too.
Species info;
-Stocky deer type creature, a bit bigger than the average deer, however, they tend to stand about a foot and a half taller on average.
-Bands grow out from their spines and tail bones (Maybe ankles too) to wrap around their necks and tails, though unlike bones, there are nerve endings in their bands that allow them to feel in these locations. However, it is coated with a metallic/shiny enamel, making it an extremely valuable material. These bands can come in all different shapes and sizes, sometimes locations; however, a smoother band is most common. These bands grow in order to protect extremely sensitive pressure points and skin. The species was nearly wiped out due to this, people hunting them for those metallic bands, until the few that were left were gathered up and put into sanctuaries for protection and breeding purposes.
-They are in the process of evolving between other deer species, making them susceptible to mutations such as the mutation of "gembound". A fawn is born with a few gems coating it's body, as it grows, the gems will spread across their bodies until it prevents them from moving, eventually leading to their death. These gems are made from the same materials as their bands, but unlike their bands, there are no nerve endings in the bones, allowing for owners or tenders to remove or shave down the gems as necessary- this will ensure the deer's life.
-Their fur is extremely downy and soft in many areas, growing rapidly and curly much like a sheep if unkept for long periods of time. This is another valuable material from these deer; however, shaving their fur or cutting it will not harm them like removing their bands will. Removing their bands is extremely painful and in most cases, fatal.
- Feathers very commonly sprout from their bodies, be it on their elbows, shoulders, or neck. It is very uncommon to find one without feathers adorning it's body. (Still need to add the feathers, hence the WIP )
-Their tails are long and prehensile, allowing them to move them at will and with their own control. Bands will always be at the base of the fan like feathers to protect the extremely sensitive skin. The stem of the feathers are also luminescent, glowing at night, all other feather stems on the body will also do the same. This is a display and a form of communication between other deer (need to add).
-They're omnivorous, and actually have relatively long canines. (need to add) They prefer meat and prefer to be carnivorous, but due to their lack of perfect eyesight, it makes it hard for them to hunt. So they developed an omnivorous lifestyle to survive better.
-Their hooves are wider to help balance themselves against always tripping and stumbling due to their eyesight.
- May or may not change the ears, however, they are long and pointed, able to swivel in 360 degree fashion, much like an owl. Their eyesight is poor, but their hearing is beyond most other species, able to hear the bleating of another deer from miles away. Their normally very long whiskers are also used to help them feel around their environments, giving them aid where their eyes typically cannot.
-They are extremely social creatures, and will frequently die of loneliness if separated from their heard without companionship. But due to this social nature, they are able to socialize with ANY creatures, including humans, predators, and other prey animals.
