[What is a Tufted Sivvet ?]
A Tufted Sivvet is a lionsheep creature endangered by
the desire for their unique pelts and horns, which both
genders take part in. Unique features of the species
include a canine-skull, thick mane, horns (of some type),
eagle-like wings, 3 hoof-like claws on each foot, and a
long tuft-tipped tail. They are friendly, sociable forest
creatures that grow about the size of a golden retriever.

Species Information

Postby dragonscales10 » Sat Jan 23, 2016 5:48 pm

[What is a Tufted Sivvet?]

[Flock Life]
Sivvets live in Flocks of up to 50 members (at most) dispersed over a certain area, where they live within individual family units. Every Flock has a dominant pair who are the strongest of all, and whose duty is to protect their territory and those inside it, both from foreign invaders and internal struggles. They mark the territory by scratching trees with their claws, and struggles may arise between Flocks over territorial issues.
Despite this rather separated lifestyle, every Sivvet within a Flock is expected to devote to the good and prosperity of the whole. They often have certain skills they specialize in in order to help others within the Flock, i.e., warriors and medics, and when wars arise, every member is expected to assist.

[Fighting]
An honorable fight would involve ramming with one's horns until the weaker competitor gives in, but that doesn't stop troublemakers from using their claws and fangs in battle. Both genders have horns, and use them to fight for dominance. Males will use them in fights to impress females.
[Habitat]
Sivvets live in forests worldwide, preferably with tall, large trees that a creature of their size can easily roost in. For dens, they usually nest in large holes in a tree's trunk, but will also go for hallow logs, caves, and even abandoned houses.
[Food]
Sivvets are omnivorous creatures that graze on leaves and grass. If available, they also love to eat nuts (which they crack using their large claws), fruit, and berries. If needbe they will also hunt small animals by perching, watching, and then swooping down from a branch. In the winter, they use their claws to dig up snow for plants or prey and to crack ice for water.
[Growth]
Mating season officially occurs in the winter months, whether early winter or late, when males will fight each other with their horns for the approval of females. A litter of about 1-2 is born in the spring.

[Breeding Rarities]
Specific traits can be bred to achieve more preferable traits.
Rares, for example, can only be achieved through breeding, and will not be made in this thread (except in a special event)
The rarity of each trait in the table only effects the rarity of that trait. For example, the rarity of the tail and the rarity of the wings will not effect each other in breeding.
Types of hair count as a mutation of the mane.

If the parents are... , then the offspring will be...
Common + Common = 100% Common, 0% Uncommon, 0% Rare
Uncommon + Uncommon = 50% Common, 50% Uncommon, 0% Rare
Common + Uncommon = 50% Common, 25% Uncommon, 25% Rare

Rare + Rare = 25% Common, 50% Uncommon, 25% Rare
Rare + Uncommon = 25% Common, 50% Uncommon, 25% Rare
Rare + Common = 25% Common, 75% Uncommon, 0% Rare

[Legendaries]
"Legendary" traits are unique traits that came from an event, such as antlers.
Legendaries can only breed with Rares or other Legendaries.

Legendary + Legendary = 50% Fail, 50% Legendary
Legendary + Rare = 50% Fail, 25% Legendary, 25% Rare

[Defect Trait]
In the wild, Defective genes are undesirable genes that are usually passed down when there are no good genes to pass down instead, basically when the parents' genes are too similar.
Sivvets with Defects cannot breed and usually live difficult lives.

Offspring of parents with family relations that have the same trait will have a 75% chance of having a Defect trait.
Offspring of parents with family relations that have different traits will have a 50% chance of having a Defect trait, 25% of having parent 1's trait, and 25% chance of having parent 2's trait.

Defects:
-Albinism + blindness (75% chance no matter what)
-No Horns (can't fight)
-No Wings (can't fly)
-Tuft tail (hard balancing)
-No mane (NO FLUFFINESS!)

It's bad so like, don't do that.

Breeding restrictions will be put into place when the nursery comes out.
I'll probably change the offspring chances to a significant chance of just being unsuccessful/no offspring to prevent pooling of unwanted offspring when people try to get higher rarities.
The actual offspring will be decided with Dice, or guess a number possibly.
Strikes will be given if someone is found to just adopt and readopt designs simply for the sake of breeding.

I forgot some mutations that I'll add into the char later, such as ears & tail tips (besides the tuft), but otherwise anything else--even the simplest things--are considered legendary traits

Ankle Tufts exist as a mutation of the mane
