▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ what are ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ pronghorn chameleons? ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
Pronghorn chameleons are just like any other species of chameleon, except they have distinct
identifying features. Pronghorn chameleons always have horns on their head, and a white rump
and neck patch. The name pronghorn comes from the species with the same kind of identifying
features, native to North America. Both male and female chameleons have these features,
although they can vary in size and shape. From chameleon to chameleon though, there are no
gender identifying differences.
Their habitats are very leafy and green, and they also need to have a certain level of humidity,
based on your chameleon's preference. They are arboreal creatures, meaning they spend most
of their lives in trees, so keep that in mind when adopting your own pronghorn chameleon!
Their hands and feet, as well as flat bodies and prehensile tails allow them to adapt to living in
trees, with good balancing and grasping skills.
Pronghorn chameleon, like most chameleons, are occasionally omnivores, but their diets consist
mainly of insects, making them primarily insectivores. Sometimes they will also eat smaller
reptiles. Unlike most chameleons though, pronghorn chameleon are quite social, and they like
spending time with others of their species, and different species alike. They still need their own
space though, so overcrowding them wouldn't be wise.
Pronghorn chameleons come in a wide range of colors, from reds to blues and purples--the whole
spectrum. It isn't unusual to find pronghorn chameleons exhibiting more than one hue as well as
different shades as well. Their scales typically contain anywhere from 4-8 colors, but it isn't
unheard of to have more or less either. Choose a chameleon whose colors you enjoy!
▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄how to adopt?▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
Adopting your very own pronghorn chameleon is simple and easy. First, chose from the preview
of chameleons above (under the title art), and read the first post by the artist. If it's available
for adoption, there will be a form for you to fill out. Most of the chameleons here at pronghorn
are cost free, but others may be an auction type adoption, or something similar. When the
contest is over, a winner will be chosen by the artist and guest judges, and upon winning, the
chameleon is yours! Please take great care of it!
