BasicAurean Eastern Dragons are of the 'eastern' type. However, they belong to their very own genus, "karinesian", which means 'aura-wielding' in spell language. This is accurate; they have an elemental aura surrounding them that no other being can see, only they can. The aura strengthens their magic and may have an effect on the terrain around them. They have powerful magic, and have soft paws instead of sharp claws. They have short fur all over their body. They also have long, silky fur along their backs. Their full scientific name is "karinesian draconus verninus". They come in all colors, shapes and sizes. AED's that are the size of the tallest domestic dog or smaller have "pygmus" added to their scientific name. They are omnivorous, but mostly feed on fruit.
SocialWhy, AED's are quite social! They love to be around other AED's, and young hatchlings play a lot! They live in groups called flights, which have 15-30 members. Flights are much like wolf packs, with every one of their ranks- except omegas! The female alpha is considered in superior control over the pack, while her mate, the male alpha, helps out. However, if the female alpha does not have a mate, the one to impress her gains the alpha rank. The female alpha is always the founder of the pack. If she ever dies, her female young will take over the spot, and it's the same with the male. They can easily become bored when left alone for half an hour or more, however it's the opposite with AED's that like to be alone. They can speak to each other telepathically.
HabitatAED's are seen in the eastern hemisphere, however seeing one in the western hemisphere is extremely rare and considered to be good luck. They live in any place that is shelter- waterfalls, volcanoes, caves, burrows, and even floating islands above all the clouds. But, from time to time, flights migrate- leave their old home for another flight or lone family of AED's to take and find a new home. Migration will take many days. Maybe even months. Speaking of migration, there is a special event called the Great Migration, when all AED's migrate from north to south, and those in the south, south to north.
