Just came up with a new character through experimenting with this avatar. So this is King!
Gorgeous lines, shading and background by Magnus.!
notes here mostly for me;
- He's a 'King', a leader but not a ruler. He has no kingdom and no subjects, he is not royalty and was not born into his role.
- He was born a regular dog. A naive adolescent, his insecurities about his heterochromia eventually morphed into a distorted ego. He had compared himself to anyone he met mentally since he was old enough to care about his appearance, but always thought of himself as a lesser dog than any other. Eventually, his mindset flipped non-deliberately into thinking that he was ranked higher and than others as a coping mechanism for his own emotional pain. However, this meant that his respect for others sank.
- During early adulthood, his guiding spirit, -----, decided to teach him the error of his ways.
- King was cursed with the Crown, small and golden with a peach coloured heart, and the brown marking over half of his face, with mis-matching brows. The curse would see him show more kindness and empathy towards others, if he wanted to return to normal. Of course he wanted to, he was furious! After all the years it took him to overcome his paranoia about his already asymmetrical face he was left looking like this?
- The Crown grows bigger and the heart grows brighter with each drop of kindness he shows to others, as does their respect for him.
- Unkindness causes the Crown to shrink, and others to distrust him upon sensing this, as they cannot see the Crown.
- Without even realising it, King begins to respect himself more as he respects others. This true self-respect, rather than his acquired ego, causes him to be kinder to himself, which also makes the Crown grow. This teaches him the importance of respecting himself and others equally, and the way that they feed off of each other, going hand in hand- or paw in paw. It is important to love yourself, too!
- He has a small, greyish blue/green heart tattoo at the inner tip of his left ear to remind him of the curse, which turns out to be a gift.
- His face markings vaguely resemble Yin and Yang, a symbol of peace and equality.
Feel free to call me Para. she/her.
Happy pride!
