Yay! A new special is out in celebration of reaching 50 normal adopts! There has been a lot of interest in being an artist and I'll be honest: I am considering it. However, I can promise you that it will not be as easy as it might look. I'm going to be very choosey about who would join me as an artist. Also, it might interest you that I am currently working on a hatchery. :3 I'm hoping to have that out before/during Christmas. And that leads me to mention that I plan on a Christmas special and event! I was thinking something like a 12 days of Christmas item giveaway. What do you think? :3

Will customs be added?

Sure! But they will be on my terms and will be dished out intermittently when I feel like handing them out. I will post limitations as I am willing to hand them out. Feel free to ask more questions on this topic.

Will pixo breeding be added?

I was waiting for somebody to ask about that! I don't really have time now to make breeding a priority, but I waaaaaaant to, so I hope so. That's why I've kept the rarities and everything consistent so that I can make breeding streamlined. :3

I'm wondering, will there ever be an artist competition?

Eeeerm, I'm thinking probably not. There are so many layers for the different markings, I think it would be too confusing for other people to make their way through them. ^^' I kind of made the whole thing a little too complicated. lol... I might change my mind someday, though. We'll see. ^v^'

Will we ever be able to have more then one pixo and different backgrounds? like 5 per user, not including customs?

There is no limit as yet. I don't think I'll be making one as I don't really care how many people get. I just like making them. ^v^ As for backgrounds... I really should make more... I know I should, but I have enough trouble finding time to add more markings at the moment. Backgrounds are kinda on my list of things to do, but I'm also thinking of making them a special for... future holidays. I donno... We'll see! ^^'

Are we allowed to just post a form for a custom? Or is that a prize that people are picking up?

It's kind of a runner up thing. Sometimes, when I see that more than one user has tried out for a Pixo, I like to make consolation prizes that I call "semi-customs" for the people who were too late. So, if you ever miss out on a freebie, I might give you permission to request a semi-custom on the main thread (this one). Otherwise, you'll have to wait till there is another custom event.

Question can we gift Pixo's to others?

Yes, I think gifting is alright. The way you would go about it is by first messaging the person you wish to give your Pixo to and ask them if they would accept. If they accept, you would post on the Pixo's page that you are giving it to that user. Finally, the new owner would have to post on the Pixo's page that they accept the gift. Once all of these steps have been completed, I will change the ownership over to the new user. Feel free to ask clarifying questions on this subject.

Status System and How It Affects Your Pixo

So, every Pixo has always had a "Status" in my head which is determined by its subspecies, markings, and mutations. This status affects what kind of pre-made will be made when and what kind of hatchling you will get when The Hatchery comes out finally.
You may have noticed a pattern of what kind of Pixos are made when. For example: three very common seeming Pixos will come out to be followed by a Pixo with some uncommon qualities. Well, as a matter of fact, there really is a method to my personal madness!

Here is the official cycle that I have been attempting to follow more consistently:
3 Common Status Pixos, 1 Uncommon Status, 3 Common Status, 1 Uncommon Status, 3 Common Status, 1 Rare Status, and repeat!

"Now wait a minute! I noticed that you don't really follow that pattern! After three common Pixos, you followed with another common Pixo like the Stegosaurus. Shouldn't you have used the Plesiosaurus instead?"

Well, look again at the Stegosaurus. Maybe it is a common subspecies, but it might have some other uncommon qualities. That's where the "Status" part comes in. A Pixo's subspecies may be common but its status might be "Uncommon" because it has an uncommon mutation or uncommon markings.

Here are the indicators of the different statuses:
Common Status Pixo: All qualities are common (ie: common subspecies, common markings, 0 mutations [because all mutations are uncommon or higher rarity]).
Uncommon Status Pixo: Has at least one uncommon quality (ie: uncommon subspecies or markings or mutation). No more or less than one mutation. Cannot have any rare but may have more than one common quality.
Rare Status Pixo: Has at least one rare quality (ie: rare subspecies or markings or mutation). No more or less than one mutation. Cannot have any special but may have more than one common and/or uncommon quality.

When artists take over the pre-made Pixos, I will require them to follow the above cycle and status restrictions.

"Um... Aren't there special Pixos? Why aren't those in the cycle?"

Yeah! So the thing about special Pixos is that, besides their breed, they are unique! They have at least one special marking and definitely one special mutation. These special markings and mutations are not given to any other pre-made or custom Pixo. When breeding comes out, there will be an extra-ordinarily small chance of passing the marking(s)/mutation on to the offspring; but there will be a chance (to learn more about The Hatchery and how the status/rarity system works there, you will have to wait until I finish the page). :3 Special Pixos are not in the pre-made cycle simply because of their status: special. They will appear on special occasions. Only I, Pixie, may create a special Pixo.
