welcome to the land of the keepers
keepers are a deer/dog like species with a long, prehensile tail with a bud-like appendage on the end. inside the bud there lays a round gem-like object named a soulgem. this gem has unknowable power and is extremely dangerous, only the keeper knows its true power. young keepers, named seekers, have a tight band wrapped around their bud to keep the energy inside. when the seeker matures, they wrap the band loosely around their tail to show they've become a keeper.
keepers have various different jobs, from maintaining the crops to ruling over empires
the more mutations the keeper has, the higher 'blood' they are. the highest of the high are keepers with extra limbs, most usually wings and extensive horns. seekers, on the other hand are 'seeking' what they're going to become, hence the name
keepers can make most humanly vocal sounds and speak in a language very similar to latin, but not quite the same. they are known to be able to pick up new languages very quickly. they are also known to be able to read and do other humanly things.
more will be added as the research on keepers continues
