Fieldira are found nearly everywhere, but they are shy creatures and difficult to find. They are sentient creatures, and not at all suitable for pets as they only like small children and dislike humans older than the age of 5. They are somewhat aggressive towards older humans, but do not do much damage.

Their horns do not serve any purpose, and young fieldira are born with small stubs that can grow from 6 to 8 inches long.

They have an oddly shaped mouth + nose, which almost resembles a beak, except that it is squarer than a bird's beak. Fieldira use this beak to tear food into small pieces, which their teeth grind up.

On the hind legs of fieldira, as well as on their cheek just below their eyes, odd, hard material surfaces in long ovals. This material sparkles like gems, but is structured much like a snake's scales. As of this time it is unclear to humanity as to their purpose, because they do not provide much protection (they are small, and not placed in strategic locations). However, it is noted that young fieldira are born with these and they stay the same size. A fieldira grows rapidly, from a very small size, so it is possible that they provide some semblance of protection to young fieldira's much smaller bodies.

Fieldira are born the size of small house cats, fluffy and small, and by adulthood (fieldira can reach adulthood between Year 2 and Year 3) they can be anywhere from the size of stags to tigers.

Fieldira also have hooved and canine legs. It is believed that since the earliest record of fieldira were on a mountaintop, the hooves helped them to climb better and the paw pads on canine legs helped with stability.

Finally, the stars seem to be the recent addition of fieldira living near human communities. These stars commonly come from preschool aged children, who befriend fieldira. Fieldira who live far away from human communities do not have these stars.
