Bedfordshire Terriers
What are Bedfordshire Terriers?
Bedfordshire Terriers or Bedlys are a newly created breed of dog, originally a cross between a Bedlington and a Airedale Terrier their name is a mix of the two to show their routes, since this breed was created after hunting had already diminished they are more show dogs than anything now but some still go on to be rat/hare hunters.
Rules:
• Do not resell/trade/gift away your Terrier
• Do not argue on this thread please, if anything here is wrong/you're unsure about anything, please pm me instead.
• Do not ask for customs [I will open them when I want to]
• Do not whine/moan if you do not win
• Please do not ask to be part of the staff, there will be an artist competition soon.
• You cannot win more than two a day [if FCFS you may only adopt one a day]
• You can own a maximum of ten Terriers [including breedings/customs]
• Each Terrier can only breed once every two weeks and has five breeding slots.
Colouring and Markings:
Bedlys come in a varity of natural dog colours, however, they most commonly take after their ansestor dog breeds and so saddle type markings such as this are quite common, with only a few colours on each dog. Because of their unique head and leg fur which is kept longer than the rest of the body these areas are always a diffrent colour as they are here on the Bedlington, however, the head/legs can be either lighter or darker depending and how they are different varies greatly.
Browns, greys and creams are the most common colours, black is extremely rare for a Bedly as is pure white, albino even more so while the rarer colours tend to do better in apperance shows they often fall behind in shows where speed and such are needed - the reason for this is unknown. Reds/gingers are also sought after for apperance shows and are often called the rubies of the breed because of their striking appearence.

CompetitionsOpen/ClosedBedfordshire Terriers are bred to be show dogs and so you can enter your Bedlys into competitions to win prizes and gain them experiance [which is measurred in show points] which in turn will help them win other competitions. Each comp winner will be chosen randomly via a draw, however, the more experiance/show points your Bedley has the more times it will be entered into the draw - every 5 show points will be one entry or ticket, so most foundation Bedlys will be entered twice into each competition draw with two tickets.
5 show points = 1 ticket
10 show points = 2 tickets
15 show points = 3 tickets
20 show points = 4 tickets
You can enter a maximum of two Bedleys into each competition.
