It's supposed to be like a hybridization gone extremely wrong. Alien DNA doesn't like to mix with Earth-based creatures and, even when it matches close enough for a hybrid to be produced, the chromosomes go crazy with mutations along with dormant genes emerging randomly.
But, this is just a concept sketch for one of many. I may change it around a bit to better match what I need.
