Terms of Creation

-Please actually make OCs. I didn't work so hard on this species for you to scribble all over it and call it a day. There's a lot more to them than just appearance.
-You must include the Mothmo's life plant. It may be fictional, but realistic (for example, no "giant man-eating flower".)
-You may make your own types of wings and antennae.

Rules

✪ Own as many as you want.
✪ Breed them.
✪ Add mutations such as horns or fangs.
✪ Make your own wings, antennae, and life-plants.
✪ Be any sexuality, gender, etc. Homosexual pairs can reproduce thanks to magic.
✪ Claim the species as you own.
✪ Change the important anatomy.
✪ Ignore the species' information.

Species Information

Life-Plants

Almost every Mothmo has a life-plant with which they share their spiritual energy. If one dies, so does the other, so a Mothmo must carefully watch over it's Life-plant and choose a good place to plant it.
Every Mothmo receives the seed of a flower at birth by their parents. This becomes their Life-plant. That winter, they will hibernate with this seed, allowing their souls to fuse and allowing the mothmo's wings to grow. That spring, they must plant it in a safe place.
Mothmos who don't have Life-plants are known as Wilts and are flightless, as without their seed their wings never grow in and remain wilted.

Glades and Tree-Mothmos

Tree-Mothmos are the rare, alpha mothmos. Their Life-plant is not a flower, but a fruit-producing tree, and they create Glades.
A Tree-Mothmo's tree has powerful magic which produces a sphere of warmth, creating a warm safe-place in the winter months. This sphere of warmth is known as a Glade. Many Mothmos plant their flowers here where it is safe, creating a sort of beautiful garden, and they all care for one another. The glade's Tree provides plenty of food for the glade's inhabitants, making it a perfect paradise.
Tree-Mothmos live longer than other Mothmos, up to 300 years. When they die, their tree will die, as will every flower in the Glade.

Man-made Glades

Humans love Mothmos for their pretty songs, wings, and flowers, and will often try to attract them to their gardens. Sometimes, Mothmos will live in a human's greenhouse, which they consider to be their Glade. It is considered a great show of trust for a Mothmo to plant it's life-plant in a manmade facility, as they are technically trusting their life with the humans there.

Gaia-Plants

Gaia-Plants are magic-producing plants with bell-like blossoms. After rain, these blossoms become filled with water, which mixes with delicious nectar. Mothmos love to drink the watery nectar of Gaia-Plants.

Magic

Mothmos use magic from the life-sources of plants. Mothmos with life-plants can use their magic anywhere; Mothmos can also get magical energy from Gaia plants. Powerful spells are cast depending on the caster's focus and how much magical energy is available in the area. However, the plant(s) will want to take some energy back, causing the caster to be temporarily fatigued depending on the spell's strength.
Glades, filled with life-plants, are places bustling with magical energy.

Antennae

A Mothmo's antennae can detect magical energy. This can be life-saving in battle, as they can foresee magical attacks, as well as detect nearby sources of magic. A Mothmo without antennae cannot use this 6th sense.

Lifestyle/Reproduction

Mothmos live in groups in a Glade, but within that group they keep to their immediate family. However, they all love and care for one another, and often care for one anothers life-plants in a glade. They are purely herbivorous and eat fruit; during the winter they eat the fruit of the glade's Tree. Mothmo's communicate through song-like calls.
A pair of Mothmos will love each other for the entirety of their lives, and will reproduce in the spring. Thanks to magic, homosexual, transgender, or otherwise infertile pairs can reproduce. About 1-2 mothlings are born in the spring, and are taught their ways by their parents that summer. That winter they will hibernate; the following spring they will plant their life-plant and live as an adult.
