Basic Information on Northern Kitsune
- All Northern Kitsune originate from the farthest reaches of the north,
which is most typically the artic or the northern area of Canada. Like all
kitsune they are able to survive almost anywhere, although offspring born
anywhere else other than the northern areas retain features and appearances
similar to their ancestors and predecessors.
- Northern Kitsune have beaded necklaces like any compass kitsune, but
their necklaces contain a total of five beads, unlike their southern cousins.
- Their most prominent feature is their long fur, made up of three to four
coats that almost never shed; unless they migrate to a location near the
equator.
- These kitsune tend to have thicker ink than their southern cousins, and
are less prone to "cracked bead complex"; which is a condition in which a
kitsune's necklace beads are cracked, which results in their ink leaking out
and rendering the kitsune unable to let their inky tails dissapear. As such,
Northern Kitsune's tails are less likely to drip or disintegrate when revealed.
- Northern Kitsune have very large paws, and each paw contains three toes.
- There also tend to be many differences between those of female and male
genders; suited to the gender they were born as, and not by their identity.
- Northerners have larger, rounder ears.
Female Traits
- Females are much smaller in stature, standing from
eighty cm to one meter when on all fours.
- They do display a curly mane/ruff, albeit on a smaller
level compared to that of a male.
- A female's mane will extend down their back.
- In terms of body size, females are on the leaner side,
and their legs tend to thin out towards their paws. In
short, they appear rather stout.
Male Traits
- Males are almost double the size of females, and are
a lot bulkier, as well.
- They retain a curly mane, which extends down much
like hair; and is always kept in place with a bead depicting
their number of tails.
- Often fluffier than females.
- Males stand from one and a half meters to two meters,
sometimes depending on how their fluff adds to their size.
