What on earth is a lava dog???
Glad you asked! A lava dog is a canine animal that consists of fur, lava, and an unknown material that keeps their lava from spilling! On the outside, they have soft, warm fur. On the inside, they have lava! Yes, hot, gooey, lava. Don't worry about burns though, they have a material over the lava that absorbs heat and keeps the lava from spilling out of them. The material is very strong and only an extremely powerful force can cause cracks or even break it.

FAST FACTS
● Their eyes, lava, tongue, and paw pads are all the same color
● Shield over it so owners can touch them without being burnt
● Can have different kinds of ears and tails
● PPS is possible
● They don't need food, the lava powers them so they don't really need to sleep either
● Shield can be broken (but only with a really powerful force)
● Lava = blood and life energy basically
● If they lose too much lava they will die
● If they eat something bad, the lava will not burn as bright and they will be sleepy and sick
● The lava can't be replaced because each lava dog has a different and unique lava
● They glow and radiate warmth
● They can see really good at night
● Lava dogs are very social

● Lava dogs can be gifted with my permission
● If you are gifting to someone new to the community, make sure they have read the rules
● do not gift lava dogs without my permission

READOPTION
● If you no longer want your lava dog, you can ask me or the artist to put it back up
● You can give your input on who you think should win, but it is up to me or the artist as to who wins

You do not always automatically receive a strike when you break a rule. It depends on the severity and how many times you have broken the rule!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Lifespans
Lava dogs can live forever. As long as they don't lose their lava, they are immortal. Due to this, Lava dogs can go through many owners and try not to get too attached to one. Typically, when the owner dies, the Lava dog is given to a family member or set free to find a new one on it's own.

Sizes
Full grown adult - About the size of a golden retriever
Adolescent - About the size of an adolescent golden retriever
Pup - About the size of a golden retriever puppy

Weights
Fully grown adult - 60-70 pounds
Adolescent - 40-50 pounds
Pup - 15-20 pounds

Edits
Lava dogs can have things such as horns, hair, wings, even longer fur! Although wings are a rare trait to have.

Diet
They do not need to eat anything to live as their lava powers them. However, they can still be fed. Lava dogs can be fed anything that their lava will burn, but they usually prefer meats or sweets.

History
Lava dogs were created in a lab by the military. They were created to be a long lasting attack dog along with being used by the police force to sniff out drugs and other substances. However, what they got was a dog that was pretty much a big teddy bear! Fiercely loyal and loving to their owners, these dogs were instead bred to be pets instead of attack dogs. Although they are still often used in the police force for their excellent noses.

Powers
Lava dogs can have powers such as the elemental powers (fire, water, air, earth) or telekinesis, future vision, speaking to the dead ect. These Lava dogs can only be created by Calico Catastrophe.
