Name: Conláed
Gender: Male
Coat Color: Golden classic tabby
Eye Color: Yellow
Personality: A cat whose disposition lies somewhere between confident and shy, Conláed is a rather solitary creature. On occasion, he mingles with the other cats, it is a rare occurrence. Most cats seem fairly content not to bother him, considering that he has displayed neither incredible talent or dangerous hostility towards any of them. However, Conláed wasn't always so antisocial. He used to be a friendly cat, always interacting with others and willing to lend a helping paw where it was necessary. He was a barn cat and his father, a ginger tomcat who was quite high ranking in the complex chain of dominance that existed between the barn cats, took it upon himself to give his son a mate which would bring honor, and hopefully promotion, to his family. The cat who was to be Conláed's mate was a nice she-cat, pretty and intelligent, but Conláed simply couldn't bring himself to love her. It was little surprise that one night, when he came across a mysterious stranger, that he left his barnyard home. It was the most impulsive action that Conláed had ever taken in his life, leading him on a host of adventures towards a whole new home.
Story/Poem/Song:
Another Way to Break
by HeroHorse
She came in the dark of the night, my love,
For she could not bear the day.
It was not her fault that my lonely path
Was where she chose to stray.
A good length lay between us,
The dark held me in its embrace.
She turned her head to the moon, my love,
And its light feel on her face.
She opened her mouth and she sang- how she sang!
She sang like a beautiful bird.
Her voice rose and fell like a tinkling bell,
Yet I was the sole one who heard.
She did not see me standing there,
Alone, and in the dark.
Still, as she turned to go, I felt I'd always know
That she was the holder of my heart.
It may seem harsh and unreasonable,
I never knew love at first sight.
I wasn't drunk on anything
Save her song and the pale moonlight.
I have promised you my fidelity,
And you never did me wrong
Oh, it pains me to say that I cannot stay,
But my heart beats with her song.
She came in the dark of the night, my love,
For she could not bear the day.
She sung her fair song 'til the brink of the dawn,
And she stole my heart away.
