Since the beginning, man has believed in the existence of mythological creatures and monsters. From little fairytales and ghost stories, to Greek and Egyptian mythology. Everything from fairies to evil shadows that implant nightmares into the minds of children, it seemed there wasn't a single object or living thing myth didn't surround-even some superstitions had some sense of magic or legend within them. Science thought that it had proved these beings did not exist, believers of aliens thought the people back then were just trying to describe UFO's and aliens from their perspective. Truth was, these beings did once exist... but were eradicated. When man began to settle in America, people began to see more of these creatures. Some, especially Indians, befriended most of the beings that revealed themselves. But others of human kind responded foolishly, resulting in war with these beings. Eventually, man began to capture and kill the beings once thought to be myth. It appeared, to those who thought the creatures didn't originally mean harm, that the government responded this way for the existence of these creatures went against belief and they couldn't handle the thought of their existence. It wasn't long before the first species was eradicated.
Now, it is once again thought these creatures are myth. The government had long since locked away documents of "myths"-as that is what the creatures were referred to as. But in the future, with much more advanced technology, some began to secretly do experiments to attempt to bring back the "myths." By now, information about the documents and once existence of the myths had leaked out. They said that even the government was using saved DNA from long ago in experiments. However, they didn't have the DNA of all of the creatures that once existed. The government proceeded in attempting to brainwash the successful experiments whilst trying to invent new species. Brainwashing was successful with some, but others turned and were put down. But, of course, their DNA was not lost, but saved instead. However, the DNA taken from those was soon called 'secondary' for the original DNA had mixed with a humans and was now deluded. Therefore, that DNA wasn't going to make the next human experiment as powerful as the previous. The successful experiments that had been brainwashed were referred to as the 'ascendants.'
Now, do you remember the mentioning of scientists trying to create entirely new species? These experiments were referred to as the Chagrin, In 2030 the scientists discovered a serum, referred to as the number eighty-seven, that could help humans survive experimentation. The serum was a mixture of chemicals-that were otherwise dangerous unless mixed with the right chemicals-minerals, vitamins, and a tiny sprinkle of odd glowing dust that came from a smooth glowing stone that came from a secret, heavily guarded area where it was kept safe for years. There was only a limited amount of dust of course, for there was only one stone. Scientists did notice that a good majority of the Chagrin couldn't be brainwashed which presented a problem. However, they couldn't simply kill these experiments off as they discovered early on that their DNA couldn't be implanted into a human. If the scientists tried to implant the DNA it would immediately result in the death of the human.
The Chagrin soon began to affect the other experiments and there was soon a revolt. These experiments escaped and began to gather up supplies for war. These new "myths" began flooding the cities and destroying them, coming to the belief that all humans were alike except the children. Therefore, they began to kidnap the children and take them back to their camps. These experiments didn't experiment on them to make the children like themselves. The reason for this was because they knew what it was like to be confined and put under seemingly endless pain. If a child was between twelve and fifteen, they would find an experiment who could transform them through bite or other form that wasn't experimentation. These creatures believed that if the child was allowed to grow up to be human they would become malicious, like the rest of man kind.
