Personality: Shy and swift, Hurit is very friendly once you get to know her.
History:

The tiny pup squealed as another wave thrust her farther and farther away. The orcas were back. Her mom howled as another tail slapped her farther away from her pup. The pup knew what the orcas were doing - playing with their food. Any moment now, the orcas would be gone.... with the pup's mom. Black. Water. Gone.

The puppy woke to find herself in an underwater cave, with an air bubble she was breathing in. She inspected her surroundings. It was a nice place, with flat, smooth rocks for her to lie on, like the one she was resting on now. A stash of shells were on another rock 'shelf'. The pup let out a cry for her mom, but no answer except for the echo. Hearing a sound, she turned her head, and saw a strange creature, it's head bobbing out of the water. Letting out a frightened cry, the pup huddles up to the rock wall.
"Its ok, water wolf. I won't hurt you. My name is Caliope." The 'Caliope' scrambled onto the rock. "When I saw your mom being tossed around by the orcas, I spotted you. When you blacked out, I got you, and brought you back here. Welcome to my home." Caliope scooted back to give the pup room to move around. The pup let out a wail, and scooted closer to the Caliope. "Silly beast." Caliope sighed, and pushed the pup away. "Now, whats you name?" The pup cocked her head. Name? Caliope sighed. "I thought so. I may be an otter, but I know enough about your kind. Ok then, I'll just have to give you one." The otter looked at her, and cocked it's head. "Umm.... Gee... Never had pups before... How about... Umm... Hurit? It means beautiful. Is that ok with you?"


For the rest of her childhood, Hurit lived with Caliope, the otter who lived on her own until she rescued Hurit. Life was good, and now Hurit lives alone, her friend the otter coming to visit occasionally.
