the character's meijer, my plague doctor oc. c':
since it is impossible for me to have characters (especially 'bad' ones) without a tragic backstory, here's a quick summary of this guy's story:

meijer was often bullied due to his looks and interest in someone wAAAY above him, but he sought comfort in his family. when the black death struck, his family, being as poor and sickly as they were, were the first to go. but by some miracle, he hadn't gotten sick. he vowed to find a cure for the disease, no matter what it took. he studied the illness and what it did to those it infected for a long time, becoming the first ever plague doctor. eventually he did end up finding a cure. but due to being locked up 40+ days in quarantine after each visit with an infected patient, he gradually lost his mind. he took advantage of his power and reigned havoc. the illness began to die off, but not without taking one last victim - which happened to be the individual he'd idolized. when paying her a visit, the sight of his uniform frightened her, and he foolishly removed it. he was recognized immediately, and all his respect he'd earned disappeared. his cure failed to save her as well, and he was now infected himself. he leaves and returns to his cell, which he locks himself in to prevent further spread of the illness.

there's an alternative ending for this character, but it involves steampunk and timetravel and whatnot.
