Adopt - Breed - Race
Welcome To Neverland Kennels, Sled Dogs Edition!
Here, you can build up your very own sled dog team, which can be trained, used in races, and bred. You will work closely with your dogs to create the perfect pack, and breed your victors to create the perfect pups to lead your dream team to victory! To begin, become a member by filling out the forum below!
Please PM Champion. This Forum Filled Out
So, What Are The Rules?
- You must be a member to participate in the adopt. Non-members may join by filling out and messaging me the forum above. You must be accepted before trying out for a dog.
- You must be active. If you are inactive from CS for more than six months without informed reason your dogs will 'run away' and be re-homed.
- While it is not necessarily a rule that you must enter the races, it is definitely encouraged.
- Please use common sense, be kind to everyone and refrain from complaining or whining. If you have a problem, do not post it on the forums, message me and I promise I will solve any and all issues.
- Do not ask for customs or different breeds. These are mixed-breed sled dogs, bred for their skills, not their looks.
How Do I Adopt A Dog?
- Find a dogs page that still says 'Adopt?' on it. These are the dogs still available for adoption.
- Fill out the appropriate forum. In most cases, extras will not be allowed, but prettying up is always encouraged.
- Wait until the adopt is judged. I will always have end dates set so you know when to check back. End dates will not be changed unless no one has tried out for that adopt yet.
- If you win the adopt, the dog is all yours. You may add them to your kennel page and begin training, racing, and breeding right away.
- If you notice there are no dogs available for adoption, feel free to post and let me know. Its my goal to make sure everyone has a chance at adopting, especially considering you will need a large pack if you wish to compete in traditional races.
- You may adopt as many as 24 dogs, creating three teams, but you may breed and keep as many puppies as you would like.
What Are Levels And Stats?
In short, each level pertains to what placement your dog will have in the sled team. Here is a quick overview:
Level 1- Lead dog. Your lead dogs are the most important part of your team. They not only lead the team by following commands, but also set the pace and create the main trail for the rest of the team to follow. These dogs are generally very rounded in their abilities. You may only have two of these dogs per team. Lead dogs will have all-around high stats, but their intelligence will be their highest.
Level 2- Swing dog. Swing dogs are placed directly behind your lead dog(s). They work closely with your lead dogs to help enforce the directions the lead dogs set. These dogs are used to help turn corners and are usually the most agile dogs on your team. You may only have up to four of these dogs per team. Swing dogs will have high agility, but low endurance.
Level 3- Team dogs. These are the most common dogs you will find. They follow behind the swing dogs and provide the main source of power to the team. You may have anywhere from zero to eight of these dogs per team. Team dogs will have high speed, but low intelligence.
Level 4- Wheel dogs. Wheel dogs are placed directly in front of the sled. They are the strongest on the team and will provide the team with much-needed power to pull the sled. You may have two of these dogs per team. Wheel dogs will have high endurance, but low intelligence.
Level 5- Trainees/Retirees. Trainees are usually puppies being trained for racing. This is the level your pups will be set at until old enough to be trained for a different level. Retirees are your older dogs that are unsuitable for racing. Any dog that is listed as level five is currently unable to race. You may have an unlimited number of these dogs. Trainees/Retirees will have all-around low stats.
The Big Question, How Do I Race!
- First, be sure you have an organized team. This will require at least one dog for each level, one through four. Single and double team races do not require this step.
- Secondly, find a race that is currently open. A race will run once there are five participants signed up. If there are no open races at the time, inform me and I will open one.
- And lastly, fill out the correct forum. The forum will be very simple, requiring you to post a link to each dog on your team, organized by level.
-Winners are chosen using a mathematical equation that includes the number of dogs on your team, the levels of those dogs, ages of your dogs, genders of those dogs, parents of those dogs, and of course past wins, along with the help of a random number generator.
- The winners of each race will receive a ribbon for each dog on their team, and if it is an international race, a unique prize that can include, pets, personalized art, items, and free dogs that will not count toward your current limit.
What About Breeding?
Breeding is easy and fairly lax. There are a few rules you will be expected to follow however, and a few facts your should be aware of. To breed, PM me with this forum properly filled out:
- You must have a male and a female to breed. Same genders cannot breed.
- You can breed other players dogs, but you must have screenshots of the permission slips.
- Males may breed once a day. Females may breed as long as they do not already have a litter to tend to.
- Breeding is not a quick process. Pups will grow over time, and will require different things at each stages.
- Once your breeding has been accepted, your dog will give birth in one to two days.
- When the pups are born, they will have very little coloration and their eyes will be closed. You may choose to name them now or not.
- The pups eyes will open in two to four days, and you will see more distinct patterns and be able to see their motor skills improving. At this point you must choose names for your pups.
- Before the pups are grown, you should have decided what you will be doing with them. You can keep as many pups from the litter as you want, or you can place all of them up for adoption. It is entirely up to you.
- The pups will be fully grown in about a week. It is then that they can begin training, racing, and breeding.
Theres A Contest Going On!
The contest is now open! The objective is to create mates for two custom boys that will be released at the 100th dog mark. Great prizes and lots of fun going on here, so be sure to check it out!
