Teir(Tay-ere)are big cats descended from prehistoric sabers, but their DNA got mixed in with a variety of other big cats to give them what you see here. They are about the size of the extinct American Cave Lion, so around 5ft tall at the head, 4ft at the shoulders. They are very thick and powerfully built, covered in this coarse fur. This is because they often dwell high up in the mountains. Fur length and texture can vary is certain areas such as the cheeks, chest, and elbows. They have fairly short tails and have short, stiff manes running down their spine. As cubs, it's very soft and can very in length. Some have been known to grow out long, similar to a horse's mane.
They can come in a wide variety of neutral colors and natural forming patterns of all sorts. (spots, stripes, etc) They also have long, pointed ear similar to a carcaral and most have retractable claws. On of their more unique features is that they have not one, but two sets of over sized canines/ saber teeth.
They are highly intelligent creatures, living in complex social orders and can have a wide variety of personality traits, similar to humans. They can range from large family groups to loners. They found ways to decorate themselves with hides, leathers,stones, and feathers, and naturally made paints as a way to make themselves appear unique. They are also cunning thieves and will steal things they admire from human settlements.
So ya, them in a nutshell...if there's enough of an interest, I'll consider making an actually line art for them and adopting some :3
