A custom Eldisen for Firelord Azula who wanted a "melting icicle" theme.
The theme itself was kinda hard to incorporate into the design because in their world, there is no spring. There's just winter and "summer" if you can call it that. Out of the 12 months of snow and ice, there's 4 months where the temperature for once rises above freezing. While there are plants that can survive the blistering cold, they're usually in hard to reach places like cracks and small caverns. So during the 4 warmer months, they take this chance to gather the herbs they need to last them until summer comes again.
Now obviously the herbs will rot, shrivel up, or freeze to death before the warm months come again, so Eldisens use their secret technique called Frost Freeze. Since their magic is basically all related to snow, ice, and sometimes water, this technique is pretty common among them. They gather up particles of ice and magik in their lungs and gently blow out at the plant. A layer of frost coats the plant, sealing it in an everlasting sleep. Then, they freeze it into a ball of ice to prevent it from shattering until they need it. When they require the plant, they just defrost it and the plant will have stayed in the same condition it was when it was first harvested. :>
During the warmer months, the adult Eldisens shed their fur. A lot. They don't discard their shed fur though. They use it for bedding and weaving. When baby Eldisens are born, they are born with only a soft undercoat. They don't have the overcoat to keep away the ice and winds. The shed fur are used to weave into cloaks, blankets, etc to keep the young and elders warm during the cold months.Adults are heavily armored with fur so clothing like that aren't necessary.
During the warm season, this one's horns melt into a puddle of water. The golden rings around each horn are magiked which concentrates the water in the area where the horns should be. Once the snow starts to fall again, the water will once again, freeze into the solid form they used to be. How handy. c:
The accessories are on a separate layer so they're removable.
I redrew this one because looking back on the first Eldisen, I was dissatisfied with some parts. SO I changed the anatomy a bit. The tails and ears have been remodeled.~
