Joslynn Micanopy

This is a character that I've been imagining for awhile, and I'm not sure if she's perfect yet...I'll probably change something. She is very special to me because she is based off of three people I lost this year. Also, she's part of a species I made up where each town, county, country, and continent is personified by one of these creatures (all with somewhat similar anatomy but differing features depending on the space they represent). Typically, the larger the area one is named after, the more powerful, superior, and influential. Not exactly in the way of super powers or strength, but more like political prowess. The continents tend to be the highest ranks, while tiny towns like Micanopy are but unnoticed specks. Somehow, though, Micanopy ended up their leader! How strange.
Their first name is usually from the era that their town/city/country/continent was founded. Their second name is the place they represent.
They are born from the place they represent. When a new town or country comes to be, one of these creatures is born. Equally, when one is destroyed or absorbed by another, it dies. Though their is myth that when one country or town consumes another in reality, the creature who represents it doesn't die but is put into some sort of hibernation or state of hypnosis...after all, they weren't[/u] destroyed[i], only taken over by something else. Many of the creatures like to believe this but there has never been any proof of it.
Others of her species would likely have different feet, tails, color, wings, ect, but would be similar in shape and stance.

Joslynn's feet are weird and based off of a grebe's. She is very good at swimming, considering Micanopy is a town near many lakes, but is only used to relatively shallow waters. She is also fairly nimble in trees, thanks to her flexible tail (which is little help in the water) and claws. Her wings are simply a product of her species and do not allow flight. The red on her reminds me of the native Americans who first lived in Micanopy. Her green is camouflage and the little spikes on her ears and elbows are protection from the gars and gators.

We are all small on the wings of time, twirling about through the universe as a tiny mote twirls in the wind.
