You read right, I am now looking for mods and artists! If you have any desire to apply, go to the 'Staff and Responsibilities' section of the species information. You shall find a form there for moderators and a competition link for artist positions. This will NOT be first come first serve, nor is there a deadline for submissions. I will accept 2 or 3 mods over a period of time that I deem exceptional, then close applications. Artist submissions have no deadline and shall continue on forever!

- Extremely reminiscent of their cousin, the platypus, in anatomy
- They are much furrier than platypus, with furred tails and feet
- The front legs are used primarily for digging
- The hind legs, stronger and larger, are for swimming
- Tails are often as long as the body
- It is rare one is hatched without gems protruding on it’s body someplace
- They have few color limitations, however cannot be purely neon

- They can come in any color and shape imaginable, even clear or uncut!
- Some cultures still believe the stones can be used in medicines, rituals, and other such things for magical properties, though none have ever been confirmed to possess supernatural powers
- They are embedded directly in the bone, and removal is often traumatizing for the animal. Even when sedated, the process is extremely painful and often leads to death shortly afterwards from shock or injury

- Mutations: Rare plati shall have mutations such as wings, horns, and things
- Puppy Pan Syndrome: Highly Uncommon once at the age of a pup, this pup shall no longer grow
- Plain Pelt Pandemic: Very Rare this platyjewel is one solid color
- Salty Breath Ability: Uncommon this Platy lives in salt water, such as oceans
- Pungent Pink Illness: Very Rare this platyjewel has a neon color present on its pelt in a small amount
- Pauper Pelt Defect: Very Rare this platyjewel lacks gems of any form
- Geode Encrustation Disease: Extremely Rare a genetic trait where one or more parts of the body become purely gem coated; in extreme cases the entire platyjewel may be coated but still be moving and living!

- Plati can breed any way they like, so long as the sexualities of the plati match up
- They are herbivores, but they enjoy sweets and dairy-based snacks
- Extremely gentle and shy in the wild
- They live more often than not in fresh water locations that are secluded from human interaction; it’s rare to find a saltwater platy
- Eggs are about the size of a chicken egg, puppies are close to the size of small dogs, and adults are slightly smaller than the typical platypus normally
- The age one may reach is undetermined, as they are constantly growing and some found have been several feet long! However, it is known there is a minimum of a two month growth period from pup to adult
- Some can develop hair styles, and others enjoy items

- Items may be added to plati with artist’s permission
- Before adding items show the artist of the design your plans
- You may have unlimited normal adopts, so long as you care for them
- You may have unlimited bred pups, so long as you care for them
- You may have unlimited customs, but they are very rarely given
- Platyjewels, unlike most species out there, can be very many sexualities, so as long as the parents sexualities correlate, they may have offspring!
- Plati will always raise their current pups before breeding again
- Mutations, such as wings, horns, or other flesh parts, may not be added to a plati
- To rehome a platyjewel you must contact the artist first and foremost
- Plati may be drawn as humans or anthros, however they sometimes look awkward
