Scene from a book that I'm writing... it goes like this

The next day Lapis woke up in her bed in the airport dorm. She sat up, but was very unwilling to get out; this was the comfiest bed she had slept in since she was orphaned 9 years ago. She looked to the door and saw Pyrite Helious looking at her impatiently, but also adoringly as one looks when looking at their god.
Lapis got up hurriedly at went to make the bed, but Pyrite said, “don't bother with the bed, you have to get to your first appointment in... 43 minutes. It's at port 7. the follow-peggies are all hitched up, they're just waiting for you.” With that she left.
Lapis pulled off her night uniform and threw on her day uniform, yanked at her hair a couple times with the brush, and high-tailed it out to the cafeteria where she bought a muffin. She raced to the stable (the only place she knew hoe to get to), where she hitched FallenStar to his lead. She had all but forgotten about her muffin when he stole it out of her fingers and swallowed it whole. “Hey!” she yelled. He snickered and smirked at her, it seemed. “Oh well.” she sighed and dragged him through the employee-path to port 7, bumping into her clients with her nose in her map when she arrived.
