Welcome to my adoption center for Lampsi Elk!
Lampsi Elk, or
C. c. fervidus cornibus (literally "
glowing antler"), were first discovered in Greece in the year of 2002. Most people simply call them Lampsis. Being a relatively new species, not much is known about them, as they are elusive and shy creatures. They aren't completely unlike Roosevelt Elk.
*
Bulls stand at an average height of 5.5 feet at their shoulders and usually weigh around 1100 pounds, with cows at a slightly smaller size at 5 feet at their shoulders and a weight of approximately 900 pounds. Bulls shed their antlers once a year, but a rather uncommon mutation called Nullamutatio causes them to shed only every two years, which leads to trouble in the wild, but isn't too tragic in captivity, where competition is lacking and they don't need to hunt for food. However, the most off-setting trait of theirs is that their antlers, velvet, and hooves glow in vivid colors.
*
Unlike most members of the Cervidae family, Lampsi Elk are omnivorous. Most do prefer herbivorous diets, however, some elk (particularly cows) do go for meat. Because of this, all Lampsi Elk are endowed with sharp cuspids and rock-solid hooves. In the wild, bulls engage in ritualized mating which includes acts such as bugling and wrestling. Female Lampsis take part in bugling also.
*
Some Lampsi owners enjoy riding their elk around. There is specialty tack crafted specifically for Lampsis, and Lampsi competitions aren't unheard of. However, it is advised that, if you want to mount one of your elk, that you either use a cow or a castrated bull who has recently shed his antlers.

Base Colors
Lampsis come with various
colors and
markings and some are more
common than others.
Black to WhiteLampsis can come in black, white, or any shade of gray in between. A gray Lampsi with tiny flecks is called
fleabitten gray, and a gray coat with dapples is
dappled gray.
BrownsLampsis are most commonly a shade of brown. A reddish brown color is called
chestnut or sorrel. A pale, creamy color is called
isabelline.
AlbinoAlbino Lampsis, although rare, do occur. You can tell a white Lampsi from an albino because the latter will have pink eyes and pinkish antlers due to a lack of pigment; whereas a white one will have any color eyes or antlers.
Markings
Pictured above are some of the most common markings, but there are endless combinations and each Lampsi has its own. Other common markings include
white muzzles, brindling, or various intricate designs.
Adoptions
There
isn't any particular set price for adopting a Lampsi, and many are free. Some Lampsis are
free, and in order to win it, you must do something such as
write a
story, come up with a name, and so on. If a Lampsi isn't free, it will be clearly stated, so don't worry about any prices springing on you.
Custom Designs (OPEN)
The current price for a custom design is 2 rares or 1 very rare.
Note: species DOES NOT matter, and the pet(s) do NOT have to be on my wishlist.
I
do create custom Lampsi Elk. If you are interested in a custom design, please fill out the following form and PM it to me. You just tell me what you like and
dislike, and based off of that, I'll try to create a Lampsi just for
you! If you want something specific, like a certain marking here, __ antler tines, or blue hooves,
just let me know. In the "payment offer" section, you may put in links to the pet(s) you'd like to pay me with,
OR you can just send me a trade with the desired pets and state that they're payment.
