A little information
What's a Child of the Sky? They are not an "animal" for sure. Most humans call them Harpies, but then again those are mythological and these... They exist. They're hard to approach, aggressive at times, very intelligent, and extremely dangerous. Get five feet within their grasp and you'll regret it. Their wings and tails are powerful, able to knock a grown man to the ground before he can bat an eyelash and their claws as sharp as knives. Despite being very smart, Harpies are unable to speak like us humans - only sing. We're recently discovered that they use telepathy to communicate with one another, and they are omnivores.
Harpies range from 5 feet to 7 feet and - as far as we know - are gender-less. The sport a male-ish build but no reproductive organs.
Their "pecking order" includes tattoos and jewelry, the one most decorated being the highest ranking individual. Though they chose to wear little clothing, it's not rare to see one completely bare to the world - these being mostly the lowest ranking Harpies.
There are many different classes of Harpies, some having smaller wing spans than others or different tails, though most will be like the one seen above, the Common Class Harpy.
Most Harpies have dark skin-tones and their wings tend to be lighter colors. However, unnatural colors are rare for Harpies to bare aside their tattoos.
Befriending a Harpy
Everyone knows you cannot own/tame a Harpy, but you can befriend one and include yourself in their life.
If a Harpy trusts you, they will give you a feather from their wings and present it to you. When in possession of this feather, you are given the ability to speak with them telepathically. It's a very difficult skill to use, but most Harpy familiars learn to use telepathy very well. Most Harpy familiars wear the feather around their neck, or make it into a bracelet.
Befriending a Harpy makes it much more likely that you will befriend other Harpies. However, they mite become jealous of one another. Be very careful not to neglect your friend(s)!
To befriend a Harpy will take some time - generally a week or two - so you must be dedicated to your Harpy!
Actions are introduced with ">>" and should have only one action per reply.
Your Duty as a Harpy Companion
If a Harpy chooses you, then it's your responsibility to be dedicated to them. Offer them sweets to improve your relationship, offer advice when they're in need of it, and possibly even influence them to pick a mate you think is best for them. They're very likely to listen!
However, your main duty as a companion of your Harpy is to make sure they're healthy. To check on this, there will be three different bars on the right hand side of the Harpy.
1st bar = Health
2nd bar = Happiness
3rd bar = Relationship (with you)
Depending on how your Harpy reacts to a situation, it will either go up from it's previous stats, or down.
Any black on the bars means that his part is void, meaning it's not at 100pts like it should.
The stats of your Harpy will also be said in text bellow it's image once it's been befriended. Each starts with 100pts in each category, and they will drop if not interacted with by their companion at least once every few days. Some Harpy's may be more needy than others.
Their happiness mite also decrease out of jealousy - exa; interacting with another Harpy that is not familiar to (in other words, trying to befriend another Harpy)
Rules
>> You are limited to five actions per harpy per day.
>> Actions MUST be introduced with ">>" to be valid.
>> You are allowed to befriend as many Harpies as you like, though only befriend those you can handle.
>> Harpies will only give their feather to one human alone, though they will take their feather back if their companion is unfit to wear their gift.
>> Any complaints on who the Harpy you're trying to befriend chooses will result in a warning. This includes "aw, I wish I had gotten them because-- but I'm happy for you!" It's rude and makes the companion of said Harpy feel terrible. Don't do it.
>> Only the artist of your Harpy is allowed to make changes to your Harpy.
>> Customs will be made available later on and will not need to be befriended in order to become your companion.
>> If your Harpy's stats reach bellow 20 points they will take back their feather. This does not apply to those with customs - they do not need to fear stats lowering since their companion will be happy and healthy all the time.
