Peredaisha 003 Form

Your Username: --- Hey! My username is Vulpining. I'm fine with being called any shortened version of it or any variation on the word 'vulpine'. ^v^

Peredaisha's Name: --- Py'rit (Pī-rē)

His name comes from the ore he has.
Within the rock, there is a special strain
of Pyrite, or Fools' Gold. This Pyrite has
several unique qualities not shown by
normal Pyrite, one of which is producing light.

What type of food does this Peredaisha usually eat? ---
Py'rit is an omnivore.
He eats primarily insects, although he will eat
the berries known to flourish in the
forest in which he resides.

From this type, what is his favorite food? --- He LOVES to eat fireflies! Seriously, they're his favorite thing. Eating them helps his markings to glow because of the fireflies' chemo-luminescence. He usually eats anywhere upwards of 5 dozen of them a month during the summer while they're still out. After the insects go dormant for the year, he switches over to berries and hard plants (bark, bamboo, etc). None of those silly leafy greens for him. If there's nothing else around, planting his ore eventually produces some edible golden bamboo shoots which is also a favorite food of his. These bamboo shoots can also be planted to grow full-grown bamboo plants, but their rate of survival is slim.

How does he usually get this food? ---
He uses his ore to draw the insects out by placing it in
the middle of the grassy field and humming a special
song to activate the ore's glow. The light is like honey
to the insects and draws them into the golden part, to
which they are stuck and are unable to escape. After a
good amount of insects are gathered, he picks out the
fireflies and eats them. The other insects may be eaten
or discarded, depending on how hungry he is. As for the
berries and plants, he just eats the plants themselves
and picks the berries off by wrapping his tongue around
them and pulling.

What kind of place would
this Peredaisha live in? ---

This Peredaisha lives in a temperate deciduous
forest with a large grassy clearing in the center
where a lone tree stump is. Most of the bushes
and trees bear edible fruit.

He likes to sleep on the tree stump. It used to be
a lone sequoia tree, but it was felled long before
he decided to live here. Py'rit is nocturnal and his
colorations are well adapted to that. The
green ones act as light pouches and
photosynthetically gather sunlight to use during
the night with which to see,
as if it were day.

What type of food does this Peredaisha usually eat?

Yuri is herbivore, but still eating insects and bugs when needed. Fish does take a major part in diets with his because when in winter and is almost the only meat he will often eat, also the only meat he would eat, bugs disgust him. Berries and roots are scarce driving him to broken rivers, and by broken I mean rushing water, flooding because some of the ice was melting.

From this type, what is his favorite food?

I think fish, Trout. He can't resist Trouf though in winter he can't find any in his natural home, not unless he went down north would he see trout again. Untill then he'd be waiting.

Or minnows. He loves minnnows because, you can shove it into your mouth one-by-one. But thats his most enjoyable meals are Minnows, and Trout.


How does he usually get this food?

Usually he would sit in the middle of the stream or river and wait for a trout. It could take hours for one but he'd wait. Then when one comes near him he knows the fish can see him so what he has done is put a pile of rocks in the water at his paws. When the trout comes near he will use his paw underwater and fling the rocks to the right, because the trout for some reason always choose the right path. Then wheb the rocks go he gets up quickly and watches for the fish. Then seeing it he will snap his jaws onto the fish.

Minnows he would just go near a tree next to the shore and watch for the fish. When he sees it he will loom over the water and then dip hid head down and scoop the fish up quickly.


What kind of place would this Peredaisha live in?

He would be living near the north but not entirely up north. Not in Canada or Alaskan but in the Virginia region. There he lives in a Pine forest, snow blanketing the ground. Rivers run fresh and flooded through the end of winter t'ill the middle of summer before dying down and running normally. Sometimes if a winter is too harsh and freezing climates he will travel down to a warmer place to spend winter, eating minnows and trout if it can be found. The minnows in the new place he moves to temporarily become his main diet, trout becoming rarer in the new, warmer place.

#3 -- Vulpining! Both forms are really neat, but I love the idea of the fireflies and it seems to fit well with his golden item

My vote would have to be Vulpining, a nice example how a short concise form
can also win an adoptable.
The fact you included some of the species' biology really caught me, what you did with the food was
impressive! The environment was well defined and interesting, and just by his actions I could
feel what kind of character he was.
His item was well placed in the story and was even key to his food gathering.As someone who
knows all too well the story behind Pyrite, even the insects' reaction was well suited.
I can definitely see this Peredaisha the way you outlined, well done uvu
