Maned Chatloups are ancient tribal creatures that have populated the wild places of our world for centuries. They have ben regarded with honour by those few humans who have been lucky enough to see them, even featuring in blazons on coats of arms. Chatloups are known for their tribal system and culture of decoration; they are constantly decorating themselves in whatever natural items they can find.
Chatloups, to look at, are rather odd- yet majestic- animals. They have a bushy, foxlike tail, a wolflike body, impressive horns, and the head and mane of the mighty lion. The male is slightly larger than the female, with a thicker mane, denser tail, larger horns and a tufted beard which is the chatloup's joy. Males range from 32 to 43 inches tall at the shoulder, with the average being at about 36 inches or 3 feet; females go from 30 to 40 inches tall, with an average height of 34 inches.
Chatloups organize themselves into
tribes, of which there are several.
Each tribe is led by an alpha, who
solves disputes within the tribe and
acts as a mouthpiece when interacting
with other tribes. Each tribe also has
its own colour; this colour is worn as a
tailband, in order to identify what tribe
the chatloup is from.
Every tribe has its own culture and set
of rules as well; some may be harder
to get into than others; one may be
warlike, while another is peace-loving.
After adopting your chatloup, you have
1 month to place it in a tribe of your
choice. For tribes and tribe descriptions,
follow the "The Tribes" link above.
Chatloups also have a culture of
accessorization.
Each chatloup has a unique set
of accessories - all of them
natural. This can be anything
from flower chains, seashells,
and feathers to earth-toned
necklaces, beadwork, braids,
and bands of neutral-coloured
cloth.
After adopting, you have 1
month to submit a sketch or
detiled description of a
chatloup's accessory set.

In order to adopt a chatloup, you must have been registered on Chicken Smoothie for 1 year and have made 100 posts in the forums.
If you fit that description, watch for chatloups with "Adopt Me" in their image; only those are open to adopt. Even then, check the first post to make sure it is still open!
Fill out the form the artist has provided. Please, NOTHING besides what the artist has included in the form, and no centering or changing the colour or size of your forms.
The artist will judge when they are ready. You may adopt once every 2 weeks; this does not count for breedings, which have their own cooldown.
