EXPLANATION ADOPTABLE

Postby * frappuccino » Mon Aug 02, 2010 8:13 am

This adoptable was inspired by Victoriawolf's brilliant suggestion:

Victoriawolf wrote: You should totally make ones like sweets, like:
One that looks like a chocolate chip cookie (Just keep Bob away from it!)

I'm afraid it appears someone did take a bite out of it... Bob, perhaps? After all, he is renowned for such behaviour. He stole my cookie >:U. But of course, you can't blame whoever did it... I mean, it's a chocolate chip cookie -- DUNKED IN MILK! Irresistable. Anywhoo, this leads to a crime scene... thus, you must give me an explanation, true or not! Here are a few likely suspects; you might want to feed off of this for your 100 word + story *COUGH* report.

1. Bob
2. Myself
3. Victoriawolf
4. Harrald
5. Delecri
6. That random person staring at me right now. YOU! Yeah, you! In the back row. No, NOT YOU! YOUUUUUUUUUUUU!
7. Mr. Shiny Stick *pokes* :D.

I, too, will get to the bottom of this!
Our current likely suspects:
1. Bob
Image
2.Me (aka DJ Crazyeyes McButterknuckles)
Image
3. Thorn of Epicville
Image
4. Harrald
Image
5. Delecri
Image
6. That random person staring at me right now. YOU! Yeah, you! In the back row. No, NOT YOU! YOUUUUUUUUUUUU!
Image
7. Mr. Shiny Stick *pokes* :D.
It all started when I got Thorn's call that morning. It read:
A new cookie adoptable has a bite taken out of her ear! She was brand new, just lying there, and I left the room for a second to get milk, and when I came back in there she had a big bite out of her ear, and she was breathing really slow! I need you to solve this mystery! This looks like a job for detective DJ! I arrived to check it out, and first order of business was to examine the wound. I cautiously sniffed it, then jumped back. My head was spinning and I was queasy. Pasteurized milk! I thought. While raw milk is fine for me, I'm hardly capable of digesting pasteurized milk. This crossed me off the list. She was asleep, and I looked down at her. She was small and beautiful, and very young. The wound was big and ragged, and she was so young that it did so much damage. Just then, her eyes flittered open, she looked up, and hugged my muzzle. I was surprised. I always thought that nobody liked me, especially not pups. I watched her fall back asleep, and pondered her sudden affection. "She's fond of you." I turned my head in the direction of Thorn's voice. "I guess she is." I said. I had always been fond of Thorn's adoptables, but none (except Bayou, of course, he's my adoptable!) had been particularly fond of me. I stood up and began looking around the room for clues. There wasn't much in the way of evidence, but I did cross out a few suspects.
Bob
Me
Thorn
Harrald
Delecri
That random person
Mr.Shiny Stick
I'm the worst detective ever. I thought.
To be continued... Because I'm lazy.

I have gotten to the bottom of this!
Our suspects :
Bob:Image
Thorn:Image
Victoriawolf:Image
Harrald:Image
Delecri:Image
That random person staring at me right now. YOU! Yeah, you! In the back row. No, NOT YOU! YOUUUUUUUUUUUU!
Mr. Shiny Stick *pokes* :D : Image
i also brought a friend of Cookie (thats what i'd name him)
Image
Oreo!
Now @ the scene of the crime we saw Harrald crying at this sad tragedy
Harald says:" i really wanted to adopt the poor guy but I am shocked that someone would eat him!"
we also saw Bob and Thorn, Thorn is the owner of the adoptable shoppe.
Bob: Very very sad, poor kittty.
Thorn: yes and I really had high hopes for the little guy.
Now when we went to inspect the place we have found some:
*Cookie crumbs
*Green fur
*Brown fur
and a Party hat
We have analized the Fur and have come up with 4 people
Bob, Thorn, Victoriawolf, and Delecri. We asked all of them except Thorn, a few questions, Thorn was NOT there..
and My pet Oreo has found a scent trail leading AWAY from the scene of the crime..
.. it has lead to a small house in the city Epicville (thats were The shoppe is ;))
we knocked on the door to see if anyone was home and Thorn had answered it, We asked him a few questions and the answers he gave us said everything that..
THORN was the one that ate the poor cats ear..
the Mayor of Epicville has given me and my cat a golden meadal for a job well done and i have also given all the other suspects a cupcake since they did not eat the poor cat!
YAY WE DID IT!!!

The End
Name:Cookie
Gender: Boy
will also bid pets 4 this one ;)

    Chapter 1

It was a dark night, cold winds blowing hard and adding to the suspense of the evening. Somehow, everything had gone black and white. But it didn't bother me, because I was a super-sleuth detective. The sign was plain as day on my door, Yummeh Foods Detective Agency. I could solve any crime. It was a Sunday, I believe, when the poor girl came to my door begging for help. I was having my lunch, which consisted of a pastrami sandwich on white bread, extra mustard, and a cupcake someone had given me earlier. She hurried into my shop, wet from rain, and told me the story.

Through her tears, and my own munching, I gathered up the facts. The poor girl Thorn had been running her adoption agency for young, odd, and rather unique specimen dogs that all needed loving homes. I'd seen the place before, though I didn't mention to her at the time I was one of her stalkers. It wasn't important. She told me it had been a pleasant afternoon, and she'd come up with a fresh batch of adoptables, hot out of the oven, and ready to roll into the store. One such little pup was a cookie. Yes, a cookie, dunked in milk and sweetened with love - and a lot of sugar. He'd been sitting on the shelf cooling, and Thorn had only turned away for a second. When she'd looked back, he was unconscious and had a big chunk missing from his ear.

There was few in the way of clues, but I knew I could solve the crime. I could solve any crime. So, after finishing my delicious lunch, I grabbed my coat, hat, and magnifying glass, and set off. I had a mystery to solve.

    Chapter 2

After sleeping the rest of the night, and drawing a rough sketch of the cookie adoptable in the morning, I set off to work. Magnifying glass in hand and a pad of paper with a pen in the other, I found myself walking along the sidewalk toward the scene of the crime. Obviously it was a place I frequented, as I do love a good adoptable that fits into a clever plot of mine. I was one of the few people who usually spent most of their day camped out behind the building, spying on them. But again, unimportant details. I was here to solve a mystery. I followed a trail of what looked like footprints, muddy from the rain earlier that day. It was nice to see my first clue. The shoes were small-ish, almost as if they were a child's. I sketched them out, rather poorly I must admit, and then proceeded to enter the building.

Inside was quiet. Unusually quiet. A looked around to see everything was empty, except for the counter top. Upon it I saw the poor cookie, bound up and sleeping like an angel. She looked so delicate. I was instantly angered about who could have done such a cruel thing! I decide to question the poor cookie later, and instead turn to the first of my witnesses. He's one of the adoptables here, and even if he already has a home, he frequents this place to help Thorn when he can. Named Woodwork, he specifically asked me to call him Woody during our interview. I questioned him about the event, to which he spun his tale.

"I was helping out in back," he began, "when it happened. Thorn had told me to go check up on how the Auction Adoptables were doing, to which I promptly left Cookie's side." Cookie, of course, being the name of the Adoptable. "She was so frail and still cooling, and I didn't really want to leave. She is a pretty little thing, you know, and I worried something might happen. But I obediently went through the sales log for her. Next thing I know was I heard a scream, and when I came in to see what had happened, Cookie was unconscious and she'd had a big bite taken out of her. Not before I saw someone in a black cape go running out the door, though." So now I had two leads. Small shoes and a black cape. It was all coming together quicker than I had imagined.

    Chapter 3

It was time to wake the cookie, the victim of this heinous crime. I roused her as quietly as I could, and even if she was suffering a nasty headache, I knew she'd be of some help to this case. She managed to sit up and give me a rather unusual, frightened stare. Poor thing was probably terrified. I managed to convince her that all was well, and even though she didn't want to talk to me at first, I got through to her. She had a bandage around her ear at the time, and had gotten a little hard and stale in her horrid state. When I woke her though, she seemed intent on finding the person who'd done this to her, and seeing we shared the same idea, began to open up a bit more. I finally managed to get details from her, and the story was told.

"I was minding my own business, talking to Woody. He's a real sweetheart, and we were talking about something or other. I forget. He was called back to read over some stuff, and I was left alone when..." Her headache, however, became so severe that she was forced to rest up and couldn't recall much at the time. Fifteen minutes later she was in a better state, and remembered much more. "Well, as I said, I was left alone. I wasn't watching the door, you see, when I should've been. Left on the counter, someone hit me on the back of my head with something. Then I woke up and I had a bite out of my ear, and was in horrible pain." She couldn't recall anything about her attacker, but this was enough information for a clever mind like me.

I went to the kitchen where she'd been attacked, and discovered a large rolling pin with bits of cookie on it and around it. It was the perfect size to leave an indentation. And, of course, it matched the indent on the back of her head, too. It was just the clue I'd been looking for. I dusted it and managed to retrieve fingerprints, a necessity for catching a cold-blooded eater of adoptables. Rather excitedly I began to realize it was coming together so quickly, and soon enough I'd put this person behind bars - at least, I'd make sure they did community service or something. There was no stopping to the torment they'd go through for harming such a sweet adoptable; I did intend on adopting her myself, once the crime was over and done. She'd be perfect alongside Woody, who had taken a fancy to her, as he was another adoptable of mine from Thorn's wonderful shop. But back to the scene of the crime, I knew there were a few more people I would want to interview before I jumped to conclusions.

    Chapter 4

I was shocked and very much caught off guard when Thorn approached me. She'd gone to tending her other frightened adoptables, and my mind had wandered into the land of clues and mystery. It was as if I had forgotten other people even existed. I tended to solve crime this way, in an organized and personal way that usually turned up wonderful results. Probably why I had taken the job. And here she was, giving me those big eyes and sticking her hand out rather swiftly, to reveal a piece of paper. I knew at once that it was a list. I grasped it and examined it thoroughly, laughing to myself. A list of suspects that she had drawn up, no doubt. It was something I hadn't yet done, and this little bit of help from a very hopeful Thorn was just what I needed to solve the mystery. I opened the folded letter and read the names. It had a few likely suspects, and a few that I figured could be crossed off. After all, some of these people were already ruled out.

        Image

It was a perfect suspect list. The best help Thorn ever could have gotten me on the job. I smiled at her, thanking her for her time and promising to not rest until the caper was caught. She nodded and went back to tending to Cookie and the other adoptables. I reread over the list again, crossing out what was not necessary. My name, for starters. It was unlikely any of my own creations would do such a thing, so my name wasn't necessary any longer. I also knew Thorn could never do such a thing. She loved her adoptables too much, even a cookie couldn't phase her when it came to love. I had been playing a rousing game of cards with Mr. Shiny Stick during the time of the incident, so I knew that he was also to be crossed off the list. Delecri and Victoriawolf were suspects, at least until I finger-printed them. Bob was always a suspect. And then my eyes came across the number six. That random person staring at me. I looked up to see where she was, but Thorn had gone into the other room. And probably the mysterious person who I heavily suspected was our culprit. This plot was unfolding, and I was eager to see what would come next.

    Chapter 5

Well, I started with Delecri. I'd heard she was a rather spicy person, and was prepared for quite a rather unpleasant treat. After all, who really respected a chef-turned-crime-fighter, anyway? I slid up to her door, trying to put my best grin on. My hand hit the wood with a few quick knocks, and then went straight into my pocket, where I nervously fingered the list. I always got nervous when it came to interviewing strange people who could possibly be murderers, or at least cookie-eating monsters. Delecri was someone I wasn't familiar with yet. She could be a cold-blooded killer, for all I knew. She could be cocking her gun right now, preparing to shoot me, and I hadn't the slightest clue. Boy was I relieved when she opened the door to reveal a normal girl in normal attire. She wasn't very frightening, so I let out a great sigh or relief before I spoke. I asked her to come in and go over a few questions, to which she promptly replied that she was too busy to see me, and I'd need to try again later.

However, I wasn't about to be stopped, and so I quickly caught the door with my hand and stuck my foot in the way. It would only take a minute, I assured her. And of course, you can't say no to a super-detective in a hat, coat, and a magnifying glass. It's just not right. So she let me in, sat me down at her table, and we began to talk. First I asked her about her alibi. I needed her to prove she had a solid one before I went further. She did. After making a few calls, I discovered she was booked solid all that day, making it impossible for her to be the eater of precious little cookies. I finger-printed her just in case, but after examining both with my magnifying glass, decided that it was hopeless. My first real suspect and now I couldn't even find a single clue to her doing it. Which meant I'd have to go visit the next person on my list, Victoriawolf. Crossing Delecri out, I got Victoriawolf's address and was on my way. I knew I was on the right track now. It was so plain. Hopefully the rest of the clues would add up.

I found her house, a quaint little thing on the end of the street, and gathered myself for another confrontation. Though what I knew of Victoriawolf was that she was a lot like me, I couldn't be entirely sure, and therefore would need to exercise a little caution upon this approach as well. Nodding my head decisively, I hurried up to her door. Partially because I was excited to see what would come of this visit, and partly because it had started to rain. Luckily, I had my hat, and most of me stayed dry. As I quickly pounded on the door, she answered with unusual haste. Beckoning me in, Victoriawolf found a nice place for me at the table and even fetched me some Hot Chocolate. We talked briefly as well, and I encountered yet another alibi. How frustrating. All that work and walking for nothing. Again I fingerprinted her, and was less than happy to report that she too was not the culprit. The clues had been so close, all calling out to the actual culprit, and yet nothing fit. I had one more real suspect, and if this one also failed to bring forth results, then I'd have to do some snooping about that random person.
