I have no idea what it stands for but I know an OC is like you as a character from that show/game/book/ect. Like my warrior cats OC is me as a warrior cat named Grizzlyscar,my MLP OC is me as a blue pony named Wildfire :3

An OC doesn't have to be based on you. OC stands for original character, so any character that you own that doesn't belong to anyone else is your OC.
OCs don't have to be based on a TV show, game, book, etc, either. They can be purely from you imagination!
