Glow Tutorial

Postby DuskzeHedgie » Fri Jan 03, 2014 12:43 pm

Just a glow tutorial for a friend. XD Feel free to color your own!

1. Start with an object.
2. Outline what will glow.
3. Choose a (much) lighter color and fill in the very middle.
4. Set pen opacity to 15% with the lighter color and outline the inside until it blends.
5. Pen opacity still 15%, take your orange again and outline the whole thing.
6. (15%) Highlight where the glow should hit. Anything in direct line with the light.
7. Take a dark color and do lots of shading. Anything that's covered up or hidden from the light.
8. Your glow will always pop much better on dark backgrounds! C:
I also add more glowyness.. But don't tell anybody.. XD
A TIINNYY smudge of 15% white in the center of the flame usually helps as well.

That's all! ^^

I also fail at shading.. so yeah.. xD

Inspiring. Makes me want to draw a girl with a candle for hair.
