what is a rune wolf?
-- a rune wolf is a large species of canine, closly related to the normal wolves today, but not quite. each rune wolf holds unnatural markings, in any color imaginable, and some of these markings seem to be strange 'runes', we like to call them. they come in any size, and have seen that these wolves can have from one to about five runes, we have yet to see one with more. as for the language or meaning of these mysterious markings, we have no clue.
apart from the markings, some of these wolves can sometimes carry strange mutations - such as hair tufts, overgrown claws, and even mutations to the length and state of their fur, and the tails. it seems that every one in five rune wolves carry a mutation, and on rare occasions one might have more then a single mutation.

we are still studying these strange creatures, so not much is known about them.

general rules
-- be fair to everyone in the community.
-- don't whine if you lose a rune wolf/bribe the artist to let you win.
-- at the moment, you can own as many rune wolves as you wish, there is no limit.
-- don't steal a rune wolf design/make your own.
-- don't ask for customs - I will give them out to people who I think deserve them.
-- don't mini-mod - if someone is breaking the rules, pm me and I will deal with it. (if it is a problem with a contest, you are also free to pm the artist of that competition.)
-- make sure to have fun.

artist rules
-- don't judge on the skills of art/how pretty a form is, all rune wolves should be judged on effort.
-- you are allowed to make two customs for yourself. (one may have more then one mutation, make sure you get it ok'd by me before posting it.)
-- one in every five rune wolves made may have one edit, no more.
-- don't be rude to other artists/staff/community members.
-- when you make yourself/someone else a custom you must pm me so I can approve it. custom rune wolves can carry more then one mutation.
-- designs can be made as complicated or simple as you like, but make sure you know everything about the colors and markings.
-- contests can be held for up to six weeks.
-- don't accept any bribery for this species, for winning a rune wolf.
-- if you have any problems with other artists/users concerning this species, pm me.
-- if you wish to ever step down as an artist, just pm me.
-- please be active with designing - at least one design a week.
-- make sure to have fun.
