~About the species~
Physical Qualities: These animals highly resemble a wolf. However, they are more fully evolved; featuring deerlike ears and antlers, otterlike tails, longer toes, and longer, thicker fur. The broader ears have a wider range of motion, making it easier to detect bigger, fiercer animals as well as hunt the smaller ones. Their antlers are used in the same way a deer's would be used; to determine dominance and to attract mates. Their paws are webbed and their tail acts as a rudder, to swim in the strong river currents of their alpine mountain homes. They have thick fur to stay strong in the harsh mountain temperatures, yet they can shed it in the summer. These animals are accustomed to frozen water and drought, and can go for long periods of time without food or water.
Magical Qualities: Even if they don't look powerful, these forest sages possess magical qualities. Depending on their power, they may have power to control fire, water, darkness, light, healing, air, earth, beauty, or other, more subliminal powers. Each broad power is broken into several sub-powers, so that no one animal may alter the fate of the Earth. When two powers are bred together, the babies (which range in number from one to four) may have one of their parents' powers or a completely unique power of their own.
