Week #5: Draw your favorite animal(s)!
A lot of us love wolves and ponies and draw them often, so try and think about the less commonly drawn animals which you adore. Tell us why you like that animal in the description!
I haven't tried drawing realistic animals with oekaki for a while.o.o
I wanted to finish this in one sitting...But...I fell asleep.
It seems I'm doomed to fall asleep whenever I try and concentrate on one thing at once.
It happens every time. I either multi-task a lot, or actually focus on the picture (or whatever it is) and fall asleep.
So the timer is way off due to my falling asleep.XD
What is shading?o.O The shading I've practiced on the sketch of the tree fails. I can never do shading right.
Yet I tried a difficult shading angle. Why. Why do I do this to myself?
Absolutely no reference for the tree (so far at least).
I'm using this pic http://www.ausraptor.org.au/Barn%20Owl%201.jpg as a vague reference for the two baby chicks in the abandoned house thing (along with dozens of other baby barn owl pics. Really these chicks are older than the ref pic so I'm not really using it at all...?xD). No reference or anything at all for the house and that shows itself clearly, even with just the sketch so far.
With the adult barn owl I'm using multiple references so I can get my own unique bird without really basing itself on any one bird.
If that makes sense.

I'll be doing at least three other pics for this week (yay for cramming it all in a short time frame of less than two days!) because I can't just do any one animal.^.^ The others would be an Arctic Fox, a Mako Shark (shortfin)(also called blue pointer) and this species of spider.
I was also going to do a Snow Leopard, but someone else has already done that.
Might do a Jaguar instead.
I'll explain why I love each of these animals once the pics are finished. So I'll add why I love barn owls after the picture is done.:3
