I've listened to Drumming Song 43 times in a row while drawing this pony you bet there's gonna be a drumming noise stuck in my head.

I have no idea what I'm going to do with her at the moment-- a piece of me wants to sell/auction/otherwise adopt her off because I have too many OCs as it is, buuuuut I've come up with a name (Featherstep-- apparently it's a real dance term, it's a recognized move in international standard foxtrot!) and slight history idea so we'll have to see xD If enough people say they'd be willing to buy/adopt her, I'll let her go.

Based on this color palette as well, with a couple small additions.

(and yes I totally phoned in that background there, I've been drawing for like 3 hours straight xD)

Anyway, I am looking for some critique/tips on how to improve. I know the legs look a little wonky, and if you have any idea how to make good mane streaks, please let me know! Or... if there's just anything in general I could improve on, every little bit helps


Edit as of 9/8: This girl is up for adoption!

Yeah, I have enough characters as it is, and a few others have said they'd be interested in having her. However, since I did get kind of attached her, I don't want it to just be a simple auction-- I want to see you at least give this girl a history and solid personality, if nothing else. I will not try taking her back if you 'neglect' her. If you never use her again after this, that's fine; I just want to make sure whoever takes her puts in at least some thought for the start.

I've taken to calling her Velvet Step, since she's a dancer ^.^ It's not her special talent though. o3o
Personality:
Hm,.. Personality. Velvet Step is very quiet and closed off, and does not enjoy the company of other ponies. She is content with her birds and that is all. She dances because she's scared that if she doesn't do something wonderful for everypony, then everypony will mock her.
History:
Her history's short and snappy. Raised in Apploosa, she's had a normal life. No big spills or massive thrills. Her parents care for her deeply, even if she often pushes them away. She went to school in Canterlot, and moved to Trottingham at the age of 17.
Cutie mark meaning:
Her talent is falconry, which is looking after and caring for falcons and birds of prey. She achieved her mark when she tamed an eagle chick.

Extra(s)-- Why is she running/what is she running from?:
The drums. The only thing that remains.
When she thinks she's alone.. the drums. 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4. Over and over.
Never stopping, never ceasing, never ending.
It's slowly driving her insane.
She was told that if she ran away - kept running, and never stopped - then maybe, they'd disappear.
But that's all she's been doing all her life.

Personality: Wise and quick on her hooves- this earth pony traveler has traveled a long way to know what she knows now. One of her big flaws is not letting her guard down. Sometimes she can get paranoid and expect the worst. Once she makes a friendship though- a deep one- That is very special. Since they have had to get past her guard a lot. She is friendly to almost anyone- Just not trusting enough to accept them straight away. Or for a while until she has to.
History: Feather Dream Teller's family are travelers. They travel far and wide and all around. Some tell fortunes, Others read cards. Her mother was a Fortune teller and her father a traveler. They came together and had her, their special little daughter. And what a special daughter she was! Able to analyse what dreams are telling somepony!
Cutie mark meaning: Dreams all mean Something It could mean the littlest thing- Like helping you remember where you put something- To something bigger- A warning to something that is about to happen. Dreams tell things. She reads dreams and tells their meaning. She does this by ponies putting a "dream catcher" with feathers up above their beds. When they bring their dream catchers too her, she plucks off a feather and puts it in a liquid. A image then appears to her in the water- And tells her the meaning of the dream.

Personality: Sparrow is very micheivous. She loves to trick people. She is very appealing to some people.

A notorious and infamous pirate, pillager, brigand, and highwayman; Sparrow would be described. Sailing a fine line between piratical genius and mercurial madness, Sparrow had an enemy in every port. Sparrow was noted for his unusual demeanor, characterized by a slightly drunken stagger and wild, flailing arm and hand gestures that made him appear unfocused and possibly ataxic. This was possibly due in part to the hot climate of the Caribbean, and the large amount of time spent on deck of various ships–though it should be noted he seemed fairly sure-footed onboard a ship. However, it is more likely that his demeanour was due to a common affliction of most sailors of that era–a combination of lots of rum, very few fruits and vegetables, and a tendency to accidentally hit one's head quite often on low-hanging bulkheads below the decks of a ship. It was rumored that Sparrow suffered heat stroke while marooned on a desert island.
Sparrow could be extremely serious on occasion.
Average in height and build, Sparrow Talon relied more on intelligence, agility, and quick wit to protect herself, rather than physical strength. He was seen as both the "worst" and "best" pony pirate, though she never went into a fight if he didn't have to, and always took a shortcut out of tough situations. Sparrow frequently outmaneuvered enemies with her words but when forced to fight she was still a formidable opponent.
History: Sparrow at a young age dreamed of being a pirate, and she got her wish.

Star, her eagle, was captured by citizens of Equestria to lure Sparrow into a trap, and they threatened if Sparrow didnt come quick enough Star would be dead by the time Sparrow got to her.
