Back when I was a filly living in Switzerland my parents were already divorced. Me and my younger sister, Kayla, had chosen to live with our father after hearing the things my mother had done. We had a nice house and were very well off. Every morning we would get up smiling and enjoying our blessings. It was a very good life. That was until ponies started to get jealous. It started when I went to school one morning and received a silent treatment from my friends. It didn't take long for me to overhear them talking about my "bragging" and how they wanted to make my life miserable. It hurt me a lot knowing I was hated for how blessed I was but I could understand their frustration. The same was happening to my sister. We always found letters threatening my father for money but he would just brush them off and tell us they were joking. However, we soon found out how serious they were. It was a Sunday which meant me and Kayla would be lounging around in my room watching cartoons while my dad worked. Everything was calm and quiet until a loud crash was heard downstairs. Confused, we both ran into the hallway and peeked over the railing into our living room. There we saw two masked stallions yelling at my father. They would ask him were the money was and he would deny having it. All me and my sister could do was watch in horror and try to remain unseen. Eventually they got tired of arguing with him and levitated him off the floor. I covered Kayla's eyes and held her close as my fathers agonizing screams filled the house. My father was dead and both me and my sister knew it. The sound of hoof steeps echoed through the hall as the robbers made their way up the stairs. There was nowhere to hide so I decided my best option was to play nice. I greeted them respectfully and did whatever they said. I showed them where the money was and where everything valuable was hidden. I had to convince Kayla to do the same and she reluctantly gave up all of her things. When they were finished there was nothing left but torn stuffed animals and broken toys. We were sworn to secrecy and the told us to leave Switzerland and never come back if we wanted to live. Once they left I ran. I didn't call the police, I didn't tell anyone, I just ran with my sister away from there. I never wanted to see that house again. We ran all the way to a train station and boarded a train to Germany, where our mother lived. We needed somewhere to stay and I still knew the address so it was the best option. I paid the conductor with my diamond necklace the robber had missed and off we went. Once we arrived our mother was not happy to see us. We were too scared to say anything about the robbery so we lied that father had died of a heart attack. Now mother wasn't very bright so she believed us and shoved us in the basement. We lived there for only two days before she kicked us out and sent us to Amareica* There we met our aunt and lived with her. She treated us well and we settled in just fine. When mother told her that our dad died of a heart attack she became suspicious. She knew it wasn't normal for a healthy 24 year old to have a heart attack. Thus she questioned us many times until we gave in. We told her everything about our fathers death and the robbery. We begged her to stay silent but she wasn't the type to do that. No, she was furious that such a thing happened to us. She called the police back in Switzerland and flew us right back over there. Due to us remembering their appearance so clearly they were able to catch them in a snap! That trial was the hardest thing I ever did, but I got through it and they got sentenced for life. After that we went back to Amareica* and lived with our aunt and our cousin, Sugar Tea. Life wasn't all perfect though. Kayla became very sick and became hospitalized for two months. They said she was poisoned but they don't know how. Later she went into a coma and died two weeks later. Then my mother was arrested and put to death. I was left with nothing. All of my family was gone in the blink of an eye. Though it hurt deeply I pulled myself through it. I made the most of life with my aunt and Sugar Tea. Now I'm happy again and living life to the fullest! Though sometimes I have nightmares I know I can always get up and walk again. I have no parents, no siblings, and nothing expensive or special. But I do still have my life and I'm going to make the most of it.

*Get it? A-MARE-ica?...bad pun is bad pun.
