Prononunce Sylenia. This creature is a warm-blooded animal with a venomous saliva, it's a fast runner but prefer to hide in vegetation and ambush its prey. The Sylenia have an excellent hearing and the sensitive foot-pads enables it to feel the movements of other animals. The holes on each side of its body are for breathing, sinse it doesn't have nostrils, thus giving it a poor sense of smell.


Just needed something to relax with after working with comissions.

EDIT: Would really need some tip about how to colour and shading. I want to finish this piece and also have comissions that need colouring. But I don't know the proper tecnique yet so really need help!

Well I don't know how to estimate its size other than with the metric system you'll have to find someone else to translate it if you use inches or feet. But as a rough estimate its about 1 ½ meter to the shoulders, and 2 metres from tail to head. Well if you by any chance would encounter a Sylenia, try to stand as still as possible behind an object, if it can't see you, hear you and can't feel vibrations in the ground from your movements you're safe

Well...can't say that I planned anything, just doodled, wishing for a creature to appear, and it did. xD I like hyenas thus the short hindlegs and mane

I love the "go-with-the-flow" tecnique if you know what I mean ^.^

Well I just doodled again but this time with the markings, and I ended up liking it Was originally planning for green but I'm so extremely fond of blue Any comments? I desperately need some tip about colouring tecniques! (this pic is for practising between comissions)

well, about the tips, I think that you can manage better the colors by practicing some shading... I don't know exatly how to explain some tips to you(I am terrible at doing this), but I will try. If you mix a lot of tonalities of an unique color, each one darker than the other, with the smuge toll you can create a realistic shading effect, and if you practice it some times, you will get even more used to the tecnic and will also develop a lot your colouring skills, like improving your notion of the colors. well, at least it worked for me...

of haven't thought of that! I'm really a newbie when it comes to my drawing-on-the-computer-skills, haven't been able to install my art programmes to my tablet yet so haven't really practised either x)
