About the Kuffuffle Species

Long ago there was a vicious battle on a planet named Kartoga. Almost all life on the planet was destroyed or completely wiped out. There was, however, one thing left untouched that rested among the destruction. A young dweller of the planet took it and launched its beautiful egg far out into space, to protect it from the hurt and despair. That planet soon fell into madness and later it has been said the young one was killed in an explosion when the planet fell apart. That planet is no more, but its soul survivor was that egg.
This egg would later be one of the most powerful in all the land. The Empress of all Kuffuffles. Her form, though, stood out. She was more beautiful then any of her children. She was bigger then any have gotten. She wondered off into this new planet. It was called "earth." All of its life puzzled her. Most of all were the inhabitants called "humans". She saw the destruction they caused to the land without a care in the world. It reminded her of her own planet. She sought out to stop the fighting and war, but she was killed for being different and unseen before.
Her body soon soaked into the earth, giving it a new magic. And from her beautified remains, a shrine was built. Every now and then a Kuffuffle is made from that Shrine. Their life mission? To find a human and keep them from corrupting the earth any further. They have abilities of the elements, but they will not do any harm, most of them anyway. They hate fighting and are very peaceful creatures. They are just like her in their ways.
They are really smart and love to solve puzzles. Some have even been known to beat humans in chest.
They are shy to humans after seeing what they did to their peaceful creator, but they warm up fast if they trust the human that finds them. You only get one shot at befriending a Kuffuffle. If you don't succeed you won't see it again... Most of the time.

Yeah but.... why do they like Waffles so much???

When their creator had her dying breaths, a young child came up to her. Try as they might, they could not save her. They did try to feed her though. And since she only ate in the mornings with them, all they had on hand... Was waffles. It is said the child was blessed by her and they grew up to be the only person able to commune and live with all the Kuffuffles in their community around her shrine.

Key Points!:
1.Each Kuffuffle can control ONE element. "metal, fire, poison, ect. you could even say they can control Furniture XD"
2. THEY LOVE WAFFLES (even if they type is just like "radioactive waste" or something... XD"
3. They can have hair! (I won't draw it all the time so you have creative freedom : P)
4. They don't always have to get along with humans right off the bat. (It could take them time to like humans)
5. Their leader is always Star Scream! (so if you wanted to make a comic she is the top leader but you could have your own alpha males and such)
6. There are different Body types. (Wolf, horse, tiger, cat, eastern dragon, ect. They can be long stout, pitt bull like, whatever :3 all that matters is that they have paws, the accessories they were adopted with, and their long necks and fluff.

Personality:
Emery stays true to his Kuffuffle nature. He is a very calm and peaceful individual, and the last thing he would want to do is hurt anybody - human or fellow Kuffuffles. Although he may seem tough and has a tough exterior, inside, he's like a giant Kuffuffle teddy bear. And even though his neck spikes may seem pretty intimidating, he doesn't use them for any evil whatsoever, only if he needs to protect himself from some sort of danger. He's really quick, and can run at really fast paces. He is really shy, so it tends to take a longer amount of time for him to get used to be around a human, and it also takes longer for him to trust them. He's a really cautious individual. He usually takes things slow and at his own pace. You know he likes someone a lot when he willingly gives up a waffle for them to have. Once you get close to him, he's really nice, loyal, honest, and an all-around good Kuffuffle. He also has a really positive outlook on life, and always looks at/finds the best in others.
Story:
Emery looked at the human that stood quite far away, hoping they would leave. Quickly. He looked down, only a foot away from that human stood his waffle. The waffle that he had left there only a minute ago, when he was alone. And now, a human stood beside it - this was going to be fun.

Why couldn't I have went for a bathroom break after eating my waffle... That human better not see it sitting there.

The one thing he hates is when someone steals his waffles, or eats them without permission. Narrowing his eyes, he stalked towards the area of the waffle - and the human. Taking caution where he stepped, Emery maneuvered his way between trees and in bushes, hoping that he wouldn't be seen. All of a sudden, crack - he had stepped on a pile of sticks. The human hears the noise and looks around. Emery quickly ducks down behind a bush.

So close. He waits a bit, is it safe to get up yet?

Emery starts to slowly come up from his hiding spot, until he can look over the bush. The human spots him, and he ducks back down. As the human begins to run towards Emery, to get closer to what he saw, Emery quickly runs towards the area of his waffle. He swiftly dodges a great amount of trees and bushes, trying to lose the human's tracks after him. He finally spots his waffle.

Finally! Come to papa!

Emery leans his head down towards the ground, and swoops the waffle into his jaw's grasp and continues to run - faster. After a couple of minutes, he no longer hears the human behind him, and climbs into a tree for safety. He takes the waffle out of his mouth, and shakes it a bit to take any dirt off of it. He looks at it with hungry eyes and devours it in a couple of bites. With a satisfied look, he scans the area for any more humans. None. He makes himself comfortable - deciding that he wants to take a nap up in the tree. He closes his eyes, and falls into a deep sleep.
