Okay, so here's my idea, Bean. ^^
They are small, house-cat-like felines that run on electricity. They have long, thin electric plugs for tails, a glowing power button marking on their forehead, and they always wear headphones (which are kind of like what they use to sense things). They are living animals that can reproduce and junk, and can be male/female; only their dna has been modified or something like that (yeah, let's just go with that) to give them their tail and stuff. xD
If you want to change anything, pm me and we can think of something else. If you do like it, and you want to use this concept art as the official lineart, I can add color + shading for you.

Do you think you could give them more fluffy faces? That's the only part I'm not so sure about, I think they would be cute with fluffy checks/the fur the lining their faces
