BREAKING NEWS! A nuclear explosion has just happened in Chernobyl. Firefighters are trying to fight the blaze as best they can. The death rate is unknown at the moment, but continues to rise every moment. It is reported there were at least two explosions at the scene. The cause is yet unknown, but we're working as fast as we can. For now we advise everyone to please stay indoors and plug all vents and turn off air conditioners. High levels of radiation are fuming into the air and have proved very deadly if taken in. We'll be in touch as this progresses- please stay inside for your own safety risks.

We're back with more information on the Chernobyl explosion. For those of you who are just tuning at 1:23 AM April 26th, a first explosion went off at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. This explosion ruptured further fuel channels, and as a result the remaining coolant flashed to steam and escaped the reactor core. The total water loss in combination with a high positive void coefficient further increased the reactor power. Moments later- they say about three to four moment second gap, another explosion occurred more powerful than the previous. This second explosion was believed to be caused by the core itself undergoing runaway criticality. The nuclear excursion dispersed the core and effectively terminated the nuclear chain reaction. However, a graphite fire was burning by now, greatly contributing to the spread of radioactive material and the contamination of outlying areas. The air ignited the hot graphite and started a graphite fire. The dead unfortunately just keep coming. Firefighters are coming back barely in one piece, and most of who were inside have now died. The damage is horrific. The radiation levels in the worst-hit areas of the reactor building have been estimated to be 5.6 roentgens per second, equivalent to more than 20,000 roentgens per hour. A lethal dose is around 500 roentgens over 5 hours, so in some areas, unprotected workers received fatal doses within minutes. Please stay inside your homes and do not leave. If you have had exposure to the outside air please report to one of the popup hospitals or emergency centers that are centered around the area. We'll be back with more on this unfortunate tragedy as the information comes to us.

Five hours after the incident, aired at 6:45 AM

The radiation has continued to spread. The fires have been ablaze for about five hours or so now and the firefighters have been called off of the scene. It has been proclaimed far too dangerous for them to fight any longer. Most of the area has evacuated, and now state precautions are in place as reportedly people all over are growing ill and in fact are evaluated to have intake of radiation from the air. Birds are dropping flat out of the sky- stray animals litter the streets and fish are washing ashore dead. It is advised fish are not eaten, nor beef, pork, chicken, or deer. This also includes any agricultural food that is to be picked or harvested after the date of the 26th. Water from wells is not to be drunk, and nor is any water from lakes, rivers, oceans, ponds, seas, etc. Canned foods that have been put on the shelf after the 26th are advised to not be opened or eaten. If you have not already been given a kit that was dropped off by the Union then make your way safely to one of the disaster centers to get one.

Update - April 28th.

All disaster centers have ran out of survival kits. More death is stocking up and this is now all over the country. The fire still burns. It has been attempted to drop bags of sand over the flame by air, but it's considered far too gone now. The radiation levels in the air are extremely high. As recently advised, do not go outdoors. It's far too dangerous, and the risk of death is high.

This was the last documented report of the Disaster At Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.

ＢＲＥＡＫＩＮＧ ＮＥＷＳ ＰＬＥＡＳＥ ＳＴＡＹ ＴＵＮＥＤ!

It was a peaceful night. Most were asleep aside from the workers who ran the test at the Power Plant. That peace was shattered for the sum who could actually see the plant from their house at the time of the explosion on April 26th, at 1:23 AM. The explosion shook the ground, collapsed apartment buildings and shattered windows and windshields of vehicles. It shook awake sleeping infants who brought startled and sleepy parents to their room to shush their child- unaware of the radioactive disaster happening just outside of their home. Next came the alert system on the television, screeching alarms sounded and awoke most of the remaining citizens, who would soon discover the tragic event that was taking place. Unfortunately most died in the area. The radiation was far too strong for the young and elderly to withstand.

Death after death took place over the country as wind scattered the radioactive dust, contaminating food and drinkable water. Nearly a thousand deaths were reported every three days. The disaster at Chernobyl was now a disaster to the universe, and potentially could wipe out the human race, and it nearly did.

Underground. We need to get underground. With open arms those who luckily stayed on the other side of the Earth had a chance. Those who had no contact with the radiation were hustled into underground facilities that were built to withstand any attacks from bombers. Unfortunately disease spread easily, and with no medication the underground facilities were often wiped out. Three on the other hand, survived. Now ranked as base four, seven, and thirteen. Life underground is now the normal way of functioning. It has been one hundred and forty five years after the explosions that shook the earth. School now functions to provide education needed to work in the shelters, and it's all normal again. Medicine is produced as well as food, and wells have been drilled far enough into the soils that the radiation hasn't touched them. Growing up underground for most seems right- there was never a real Earth. They don't know what grass feels like or flowers look like- even beaches are alien to them. Thing is- Chernobyl was never forgotten. From generation to generation the study and documentation has continued underground of what "Earth" was before the devastation.

Scientists have grown curious.

When will the soil be inhabitable again- if ever? Is it safe above ground? If it is how long has it been they've missed out on reconstruction time? Of course there is only one true way to find these answers. Test it. But how? An animal doesn't have the brains to follow orders and communicate back to base. It would be far too easy for the deaths to take place. Animals eat whatever they find- they could be eating radiation infested agriculture for all they know and only last five minutes above ground. The test subjects needed to be young and smart, fit and agile and able to transition into their new environment with ease. The project has been invested in for the last six years, developing the technology they would need and building the transport tube to send the subject to the surface. One subject seemed risky- they needed a variation. People of course ended their only testable source.

How cruel of them to potentially sacrifice their own for.. a project. If they didn't, who else would? It's not like they picked names from a hat after all. It was a volunteer situation. Eight young adults between the age of nineteen and twenty from each division from the facility who've finished their years of education were eligible to venture to the surface, and a lot of them volunteered. Whether it was the adventure in their spirit or the curiosity of the upper-world, many wanted to go. Thorough evaluations were done with each potential test mouse- and the healthiest and most fit were chosen.

Four males and four females were chosen. They were to collect samples of organisms and if the surface allowed, make a new beginning. Recolonize- make a family. Each was sent with a bag filled with new equipment designed just for this experiment. Heavy blankets and bug nets, dried foods and vitamins, medicines from the hospital centre, glasses to help the eyes adjust from the dimmer light underground to that of the sun above. Everything that the scientist division could imagine the subjects would need.

The launch date for the experiment was set on January 5th in the year of 2131.

ｔｈｒｅｅ The maximum amount of characters you are able to have in this roleplay is two. You can only play one female, though. Which means if you want to play two characters it would have to be of the opposite gender. With this; no, they can not have relationship interest with each other, though if you felt as if you'd like them to be related [twins, brother and sister], that's fine. The minimum age for characters is eighteen, maximum nineteen, as they are supposed to have just graduated high school. Yes, they know each other, they have been bestfriends for four years, in fact, they should know each other quiet well. Inside jokes and stuff.. you know what I mean, right? Sure, they can have crushes and such, it's fine. Just please don't let them admit it on the first day, we need to let time pass first. Drama within the characters is encouraged, just please don't go overboard.
ｆｏｕｒ Cussing should be kept to a minimum, as this is a family-friendly site. All I ask is that you star out vowels if your character cusses- and try and keep from cussing every post. SEE HERE. Make sure you don't drop any f-bombs, thats a nasty word. Same with romance scenes, kissing is fine, but if it starts getting too intimate then please fade. It makes the air a little awkward for the rest of us to read through those things, and yet again- this is a child friendly site. Also, I must ask that there are no marriages or pregnancies- scares seem alright, but they are all pretty young, so let's not rush them into anything.

Hello there. My name is Ma'ri Cadence Fearice but I just go by Ma'ri Fearice. My name is pronounced Mah-Ri Cay-den-se Fe-ri-se. fairly simple right? If not you can call me Ri or Mars. So far I am nineteen and a girl - as you can probably figure out by how I look.

So about my looks, as a nineteen year old female I am barely above average with height, falling at 5"7" which is at least 170 centimetres. Pretty tall huh? I also have brown hair, with arrays of streaks in it that are fairly the same colour but are all natural. Talking about hair, my hair falls to the arch of my back in light layered waves but I usually keep it in a bun or a high ponytail while sporting a side fringe that falls to the right of my face nearly covering my eye, strands of hair on both sides falling to the base of my neck as they frame my face. If it gets annoying, I usually push it back with a dark coloured hair band. Other than hair, I have pale green eyes that suit my light olive skin and lithe build. I have no scars or blemishes, but I have a few freckles all over my body. When it comes to accessories, I wear bracelets - Quite a few along my wrists; Anklets - Just two; Necklaces - Usually bronze and earring that match all of the above. If you ask why I wear a lot of accessories, the answer would probably be because I refrain from using make-up. I mean have you seen those cake-faced people?!

Talking about articles of clothing, I tend to wear clothing that is modest but not daggy like jumpers, jeans and loose fitting shirts. On rare occasions I wear shorts or even dresses but never skirts. Most of my clothing though, is seemingly up to date and keeps me from not fitting in. I also wear boots, flat, heels and even the occasionally beanie.

Since you've all got little show of my personality, I might as well tell you all about myself. I give off the appearance of someone who is anti-social, but really I am socially awkward. You may already know some symptoms of being socially awkward like - 'lack of having a proper conversation' to 'feeling nervous around others'. I have all of that. It's unnerving to say the least. By being socially awkward, I am usually quiet, shy and insecure - by being insecure I take majority of things to the heart. Other than being the Quiet girl, I often get disinterested quickly - One of my many flaws, and am humourless -Another flaw while also being surprisingly punctual - but by being punctual don't expect me to get straight A's and such. I hate it when people automatically assume that I'm a 'nerd' for lack of better terms.

Because I've told you that much, I might as well discuss with you my likes, dislikes, phobia's and goals. First of all, I like to read, write and draw. I often do this when bored and have nothing else to do. While reading and drawing I often listen to music to fill the silence - at most times is uncomfortable. I dislike loud, cocky, brash and arrogant people since they aren't like me personality-wise; contrasting against my quiet nature. I also dislike things that get me unfocused while reading and drawing since it's taking me away from the things I like doing. Now onto phobia's, I have Haphephobia, a fear of being touched, I know, it's silly but I can't help it. And Atychiphobia which is the fear of failure. Because of this, I often don't take risks, and live my life by rules, guidelines and laws. Also, I am often the one who gets criticised by being a 'chicken ' or a 'wimp'. Anyway my goals and aspirations are fairly simple. I want to be either an author or an artist, while also finding my Prince Charming. And you've might have noticed, that I am single and straight.

Moving onto relationships, I might as well start off with my family. My family consists of four people, including myself. My father - Timothy Fearice, my mother - Aubrey Harper and my older brother - Jayce Harper.
My father is rarely at home, working late hours as one of the many curious scientists that started the project. He provides the majority of funds. My mother is a teacher at a Primary School, working for at least eight hours a day. My older brother though moved out of the house a few years back. Other than family, I have had only 2 past relationships. Both of which had lasted at least six or seven months but ended because of my social awkwardness.
