The crow quirked it's head at Faulklin suspicously, visibly torn between desire for the food held between his fingers and completely natural caution and wariness characteristic of a wild animal. It's earlier morsels admittedly had a bit more of a sway on it's decision however and after a few tense moments, risen feathers on it's body quivering, it carefully placed one foot after the other across the fabric of the bed, still uncertain but the boy didn't seem to mind giving the bird all the time it needed to feel comfortable enough to take it from his hand. Finally it craned its head forward, all but leaping back a few times but deemed it safe to take the food when Faulklin didn't make any moves. A few pieces later and both the bird and boy seemed a bit more confident, Faulklin working piece-by-piece to coax the bird up his shoulder until the two were face to face, a small but genuine smile lighting up his face. Mamoru was actually incredibly surprised at the sense of patience and care that the troubled teen exhibited, given how violent he could be at times, but the happy light to his eyes - one that he had worked so hard to see these past many months - and it brought a smile to his own face to see the boy acting much more carefree and untroubled, much more like a boy his age should've been. Coincidentally enough he was beginning to think that coming across the wounded animal had been more of a God-send than a tragedy, one that the boy really needed for his own recovery.
A guess a bit of a spoiler for the book I'm working on(and hoping to have published in a few months) called "Fosterling: The Crow's Nest"
Wanted to keep working on it but I was running out of time to be on the computer so here's a WIP of it for now~
It's finished!
God I hate my shading style right now, so amature x.x Maybe it's just because I'm in a really self-downputting mood or something, idk
The background is not white(ish) because I got lazy, it's a white room, derp
Characters, art, story, etc. all belong to me.
Enjoy!
