Storm tree

Postby fiercestarfish » Thu Mar 28, 2013 9:16 am

I butchered the tree, it was ment to look like a different typr of tree. Oh well.
I got the inspiration from a poem called My Country. the piece that inspired me was this:

Core of my heart, my country!
Her pitiless blue sky,
When, sick at heart, around us
We see the cattle die
But then the grey clouds gather,
And we can bless again
The drumming of an army,
The steady soaking rain.

It forgot to mention that when it rains it pours. It's fitting though, I've had this sitting around for 2 months, when we finally the drought was ended, only to be followed by flooding.
There was movement at the station
for the word had passed around
The colt from Old Regret had got away.

Cavalia!
Wherever fortune clears a way,
Thither our ready footsteps stray.

man, the lightning and background are soo good!!!
i especially like on the lightning how you have the thin lines on it that just add a lot more detail
very good!!!
although, the tree could use some work c;

Thanks, there is only about six layers in the drawing. The tree does look a little wierd, but it needed to be a faint sillohette.

well, i guess, looking at it now, it kinda looks like a type of style for drawing.

No, I was just experimenting at school, I do a lot with tree's without leaves, so I set up a way that made a some what convincing leaf coverage.
