Well, for one, using a reference really helps for getting shapes right. Also, do you want to know how to draw without outlines? :3

^^ You can read this later if you want.

But, You can have layers to color fatsr and more cleaner. Go to the Layers box, and Click the + button. Go up to Four. Click Layer four, and Draw the Lines. For shading, Ill tell you more. But LEAVE LAYER 3 alone. go to Layer 2 and Color, Layer 1 you can do a background. Cool? But if you need more information, Just ask. :3

I just use a layer for ref lines and have that as the top one, then use the ref lines for the lineart (underneath). Then I use a layer underneath that and trace the lineart again, only with the colors I'm using in that region. Then, you can delete the lineart layer and just use the ref lines to place everything ^^
