Adult Windwalkers are horse-sized, though they can vary slightly and some are noticeably larger or smaller than the norm. They have smooth skin, like that of a snake, and long, thin serpentine tongues (with no fork). They have long pointed ears with exceptional hearing and long tails that work similarly to a cheetah’s when they are racing through the sky, helping them to keep their balance and make hairpin turns. Upon their heads, horns grow, and can come in a variety of different shapes, though very rarely they remain hornless throughout their lives. These horns are used both for display for attracting a mate and for competition, displays of dominance, and very rarely, for self defense. Wind Walkers tend to be peaceful and prefer to simply flee from a dangerous situation using their airwalking rather than stay and fight. They also have feathers lining their lower legs and a large fan of feathers on the end of their tail. These feathers can be ruffled and spread out for display when attracting a mate, act as expressive body language, and also help to stabilize them in the air.
One highly intriguing feature of the Wind Walker is the floating ‘necklace’ of 6 jewel-like orbs about its neck. All Wind Walkers are born with a small orb attached to their throat, just under their head, however they do not acquire the remaining 5 orbs until they begin to grow. It is a mystery as to HOW exactly the remaining orbs grow, for they simply appear as tiny marbles about the infant’s neck at about 1 month of age and begin to grow from there until they match the size of the orb on the infant’s throat at about the time of sexual maturity. These orbs can be used for a variety of things as the 5 floating orbs can be sent far from the owner’s body, expanding their consciousness. A Wind Walker can use all of its senses through its orbs (making them great spies XD), but it gets harder and harder to sense the surroundings of an orb the farther away it gets. When two Wind Walkers become mates, they exchange one of their orbs with each other so that they can always sense the other, even if they travel far away from each other.
Wind Walkers originally made their homes in high mountainous areas, but have since moved into all sorts of different habitats depending on personal preference. They are carnivorous with sharp, needle-like teeth, but they tend to eat only small prey such as birds, rabbits, squirrels, and fish, which they can eat in one or two bites or eat whole since they do not have molars for chewing. They also enjoy drinking nectar from flowers with their long, skinny tongues. They have sharp, retractable talons. They are able to live upwards of 50 years and are fully mature at the age of 5. Until they reach 5 years old, they will not take a mate or have children. Usually by the age of 5 they will have complete control over their air powers as well and it is at this point that they can leave their parents and start to become independent. Wind Walker mates will not breed again until their previous child is mature (5 years old).
Females give live birth to generally one offspring 6 months after mating, though twins are also possible but very uncommon. Newborn Wind Walkers are the size of small ponies and do not reach their full size until they are 5 years old. Newborns are able to walk and run only a few hours after birth and are able to eat meat immediately, though it must be regurgitated by the parents for the first 6 months of life until their teeth grow in fully. Their wind powers also start to show at 6 months and babies are almost completely helpless without their parents until this point. Horns will start to grow in at about 1 year and will not be fully developed until they reach maturity; the horns will generally be the same type as one of the parents but can sometimes be something of a hybrid between both. Newborns start out with no feathers, at six months a downy fluff will grow in, and at 1 year feathers will replace the down. Wind Walkers usually mate for life, but it is not rare for them to separate and find new mates on occasion.
Wind Walkers can be any color with any markings, though all of their orbs will be identical to each other.

Rules
1. Currently, you may have 3 Wind Walkers. This number may change if they become more popular.
2. Only people on my Official Artist list are allowed to make Wind Walkers. If anyone else is making them, claiming them as their own, or trying to adopt them out, please alert me asap as they are stealing my species.
3. Wind Walkers are not allowed to be bred just yet, but breeding will be allowed in the future.
4. Customs cannot be ordered currently, but Official Artists may make one custom for themselves and one custom for a friend.
5. Follow the form the artists post for each Wind Walker in order to adopt them. Do not whine or beg, or guilt trip or bribe anyone or you will be put on a black list so you will never be able to adopt a Wind Walker. (Likewise do not beg or whine, or guilt trip or bribe ME in order to be an artist, it'll only get you blacklisted. Currently I am not looking for artists, but if you are interested please be patient as I will likely open up an artist competition at a later date when I do wish to add a couple more artists.)
6. Wind Walkers will ALWAYS be a free species. They will never be up 'for sale' with pets/items/Chicken Dollars/anything else as the price.
