I set down a road. I knew where I was going.
I knew that I could face whatever got in my way.
Then somewhere along that road, I stopped.
There were so many things that were so hard getting in my way.
Looking ahead, I saw that I still had a long ways to go.
My shoulders slumped, and I lost the hope to continue.
But when I turned around to go back, I saw how far I had come.
It was surly farther than what was ahead of me.
A fire sparked in my heart, and I spun around, going the way I had intended so long ago.
I realized in that second, that moment, that when you quit,
you are often times farther than you think along that long road, so long and difficult.
That to go back would take longer than going ahead.
So why quit when you are so far?
Why stop when you are ahead?
Now, when things turn in a way I donβt like, I remind myself of how far I had come,
how little there is left to go, how much would be lost if I quit.
What do you choose?

I had this idea for a bit, and finally got it down.
