You may be wondering what these new species happens to be. Well, I'll tell you.
A History and Introduction to and of the Manitcore Dragon;
These new species of dragons were recently found wandering on the highest, most remote plains in places all over the world. Discovered by scientists, they were named after their hideously long spiked tail-tips, which reminded the scientists about the mythological manticore. Thus, soon after, several were captured, and brought over to the labs. One in four captured survived, and the surviving manticores were later used for breeding, producing a stable and well-behaved Manticore Dragon tame enough for the public to adopt!
Manticore Dragons are an interesting breed of dragons. They can come with, or without wings- An adaptation that appears on occasion. Most do have wings, and those without are very rare. Their front claws are made specifically for digging roots up on the plains, and many gardeners have claimed that they can be useful for creating and planting gardens. Even though they are quite large -Up to the size of an elephant, and can be as small as a large cat- Manticore Dragon's tails are for protective purposes and for showing off during mating season. The sharper the tail spikes, the more likely a male Manticore Dragon will attract a mate. Most common in darker shades and simpler patterns, their a rather dull species when found in the wild. Thankfully, scientists in the labs have been able to produce many varieties of colours and patterns, which they are offering out for adoption.
It varies on the artist offering out the Manticore Dragon. Sometimes it'll be a quick-adopt, an art contest, a form contest, or even a number or name game. We may even have customs available at other times in the future!
