Welcome to Jungle Rawrkin Adopts!
What is a Jungle Rawrkin?
A species of Big Cat, growing the size of a tiger, their legs longer and bodies short. Their genetics are very close to African Lions. Their pelts are soft, short, and come in many colors and patterns. Most commonly they have stripes and spots. Their breed is noted for it's erect tail, stiff mane, and it's three distinct markings. The tips of the ears are always nearly black in color with a a spot missing in the center, the tip of the tail, and a bands a few inches further down matching their ears. They have small noses, though their sense of smell is as strong as any other large predator. They rely mainly on sight and sound, their manes and tails helping to blend into their surroundings. As their prey is color blind, the vibrant colors often found on their pelts do not give them away.
Rawrkins compete with leopards, though they have one advantage over the others. They are never alone. They form small family groups, or form a pack like wolves. Their groups are Prides, and they have a ranking system that consists of a Chief (Leading male), Hunters, Warriors, Shaman, and Kins (regular members). Warriors are charged with protecting the boarders from other prides, marking their limits with a toxic secretion from a gland under their cheek tufts. A Hunter does just that, they hunt. Shaman are mystical and magical, capable of healing wounds with medicinal mixtures. They are extremely intelligent, and apply paints to the other ranking members. There are never more than three Shaman in a pride. They communicate with a complex series of sounds, ranging from meowing, to roars. However, they have a small voice, sounding exactly like a house cat.
While preferring to keep their feet to the ground, they are great at climbing the tall trees of their habitat. Their massive paws hide massive claws, and they are exceptionally powerful. On rare occasions they will use this to steal the kills the a leopard has pulled into a tree. Or to hunt monkeys and birds, as their diets consist of anything they can catch that is smaller than them.
