My brother, Ty, had a girlfriend named Mary. He is 20 and she is 22, they started dating 2 years ago. Mary's dad, Ken Sr., had a job opportunity in Florida. They were rather poor at the time so it was an offer they just couldn't pass up. When Mary told Ty she was leaving with her dad to live in Florida, Ty decided he was old enough to go with her. So he did.

Mary had a brother, Ken Jr., who was like a brother to me. His parents were psychologists, but even they couldn't stop him from doing it. They couldn't keep him healthy. He wanted to end his pain. Yesterday he committed suicide by shooting himself with a shotgun in his parent's bathroom. When my mother told me, I was devastated. I sobbed in her arms as we prayed for Mary's family. I know he's in a better place now. I know God and Jesus are taking care of him. I know he's watching over me.

In memory of Ken Jr., who died Friday, December 07, 2012. May he rest in peace and never be forgotten.
