After french.toast gave me the idea of making my unnamed species at least partially aquatic, I decided to draw one fishing. c:
Also my first ideas for their markings and colours. The markings are mostly faint, so you can't really see many of them now that I've added the splashes.

This is mostly done, but I plan to add a bit more shading soon. ^^
edit: Added a bit more shading, so I think I'm done now.

How pretty! <3 I love how soft the colours look. And as for the species, they sure are cool looking! Almost remind me of the Japanese kappa...but more dragon/reptile like. =)

Thanks! ^^ I tried to make the colours soft to help with the underwater feeling, and to make her eye stand out.
And a kappa? Sounds familiar, but I can't quite remember what they look like. I'll have to look it up. ^^

Yeah, they're kind of silly looking. Toad/duck-like...still neat though. Hehe.
