The Celestial Menagerie
The Celestial Menagerie is the Garden where the Gods of Orbis like to pick their pets. This is where all loyal pets come from and those the Gods do not wish to befriend are allowed to roam freely to chose their own master. The pets range from neutral colours to bright and neon but what they have in common is their glossy feathers or fur. They are the most beautiful of all species. The Garden itself is peaceful and while there, none of the creatures need to eat, they only need to drink from the crystal clear waters there. The people of Orbis care little for animals, only a few collectors would keep them as companions, some catch them and sell them to these collectors while others hunt them.

The Species
The Canines
The Canines here are unusual in the sense that they have long ears and long
trailing feathers that originate from their mouths. These help them navigate
much like a feline would. They are very loyal and are a companion much sought
after by the Gods. These beautiful canines are often hunted for their fur which
is thick and glossy, making warm clothes and house hold items, if they are left to wander
without a master they usually meet an untimely end. Canines are quite common in Orbis
but this does not mean they should be allowed to be hunted.
The Equines
The Equines here have quite short legs but their most defining feature
is their long mane and tail. Often hunted for their hair, their beautiful hooves are also
sought after for 'luck', while their manes and tails are used to make the most beautiful
and expensive instruments. The Equines are not common in the Garden, which makes
them all the more desirable to collectors and such, they are calm and graceful while
being far too trusting.
The Avians
The Avians of the Garden are quite rare, they are hardly ever hunted, however
they are often captured for collectors, their plumage is quite exquisite. Avians are quite
viscous despite their beautiful appearance, they are hard to capture because of this, but
if they chose an owner then they will become loyal to that person. So large are they that
their masters can ride comfortably on their back, many who are lucky enough to own an
Avian often prefer to travel this way, their thick feathers keeping the rider warm while
they are able to travel great distances. They have great eye sight and sense of direction
so are often used to deliver mail as well.
The Felines
The Felines of the Garden are aloof and make luxurious pets. They are quite lazy
and require a lot of attention, following their master wherever they go, keen to be involved
in everything. Quite conceited these Felines are easy to capture or hunt, they have keen
senses which they hardly ever use, thinking that no one would dare try to harm them. They
are often hunted for their long tails which people use as shawls and for 'luck' among other
things. Many of those that are rich like to keep them as guards to their house, when trained,
these Felines are ferocious guardians to their masters.
The Otters
The Otters of the Garden are extremely rare, they are hard to catch, even when
they are caught it is hard to keep them contained. They are the fastest in the Garden
and spend much of their time in the water. They do not make good pets for those who
like to spend a lot of time with their companion, however those in Orbis that are rich
like to keep them in large colourful tanks, so they may be watched and admired by
those who visit their home.
