A snake on a walking/biking/hiking trail. The inspiration came to me from doing a trail cleanup today with my sister's Girl Scout troop. That's because I don't have a troop. A lady walking told us that she had sighted a water moccasin (I live in Florida) about a half mile from where we had stopped. We didn't see one though. It must have been killed, or went into the water, or on the other side of the trail.
The timer is off by less than 5 minutes, so it's practically true. I spent 50-something minutes on this, a new record for me. And my arm hurts just a little bit now.
This was originally going to be practice with lock alpha, then an snake editable, but it turned into this. I decided to go ahead and use multiple layers, but I think that failed a little bit when I used lock alpha on the last part.
I don't have a reference on this, it just came into my mind. Besides, I would have failed at a reference anyway. I don't have a tablet, this was all done by mouse (and the mouse that comes built-in with the computer.)
Any comments/creative critism are asked for, and wanted. I feel this was one of my drawings I put way more time in, other than just editing. That seems to be what I've been doing a lot lately, just coloring in on Editable Oekaki.
The trees ended up in two different layers, one with "The Sky", and one with "Background" as the title. That's what I failed at in this drawing.
I used "Lock Alpha" when I changed from Sketches and Experients to Beginner's Oekaki. That lasted 8 minutes.
I used 80% Smoothing on this drawing, like in most of my recent drawings.
I used Round Pixelated on the road; Round Soft on the trees and most of the sky; Square Hard Edge on the bark of the trees and part of the sky; and Round Hard Edge on the snake, and the snake's lines.
I want to know what you think, so please comment and give creative critism on this (such as what I should redo on here.)
Thanks for reading this long message. I just wanted to show what I did.
